I meet with the union representatives from both American Postal Workers Union and National Postal Mail Handlers Union regarding alleged violations. I attempt to resolve contract issues and concerns at the lowest level. After reviewing grievances and all supporting documents, I prepare a full detail statement of facts. I rely upon contracts, handbooks and policies to determine the appropriate decision. The postal service provided me with training to coach, develop and teach supervisor in operations. As a Peer Coach my manger identified me to possess exceptional knowledge and experience in the functional areas of Customer Service and Distribution Operation. As a coach I had one-on-one coaching communication. I provided leadership, guidance, and support for the new supervisors to achieve their development plan and opportunities in management. As a front line supervisor and Step 2 Designee I possess the ability to effectively communicate with managers, supervisors, unions and employees effectively orally and/or in written communication form. Excellence of communication also details the fundamental of being an effective listener, and receiving positive feedback, therefore these skills are essential in pre-arbitration as well as arbitrating with a union representative. My skills have effectively favorable in Pre-arbitrating cases to reduce the arbitration back log and reduce potential liability of the organization. I offer that the causes of the U.S. Postal Service orientation problem are that the informal orientation and training structure is not defined clearly and it lacks the structure to ensure new employees are adequately prepared for their jobs as letter carriers. The poorly designed orientation and training process that is offered beyond that provided by Burgess is based on assumptions and is not reflective of well-planned design, implementation and evaluation phases of training as defined by Nick Blanchard and James Thacker.
Over the course of this class I feel like I have become a much better writer. When I go back and look at some of my Journal entries and assignments that I did at the beginning of the semester, I can’t help but tense up at some of the things I wrote. Sometimes the things I was writing didn’t flow well, or I might have even have missed glaring grammar mistakes.
Composition 1 taught me crucial writing skills and helped me grow as a writer. At the beginning of the semester, my papers utilized a considerable amount of passive voice, lacked transitional phrases, and the context was not always fully developed. But throughout the class, my writing became more clear, organized, and comprehensive. Passive voice allows the object of an action to be the subject of a sentence. In my first paper, the formal summary essay, I wrote, “The term describes situations, dating back to the 1980s, when excessive numbers of blacks were found to have been exposed to highly polluted areas.” The use of “were found” and “been exposed” distort the meaning of the sentence. Passive voice confuses the reader and makes comprehension

As a second language learner I have never expected myself to be a perfect writer throughout the semester. Even If English was my first language still, I would not be a perfect writer. It is not about first or second language, it is about how well I understand the learning objectives. Then organizing and writing with my own ideas and putting them in my paper. I am going to be honest, I am not good at English subject and English subject is my strongest weakness than the other subjects. Over the last four years of studying architecture, I have seen the power that it has to shape communities, shape lives, and to create new ways that people interact with each other. The way architecture can help enhance living and allow for creation of new interactions of people is one of the reasons I find the subject so interesting. The way architecture can shape a whole culture and the way that the culture then in turn shapes the architecture is fascinating to me. Architecture is also not a static subject, it is constantly evolving and adapting with time to take on new forms, create new spaces, and to provide commentary on the history of our time on Earth. The depth that architecture has, and the evolution of the subject is something I have fallen in love with through my study of it. However, when I first started out studying architecture, I had no idea of the depth that the subject had, and it was an incredibly daunting realization; however, it was as equally exciting.
