Throughout my school career I have always loved chemistry. In Chemistry there was always a sense that there was more, there was always something new and exciting to be discovered and theories to be proven (or even disproven). Chemistry was the main subject with a real practical aspect to it during school and it is this, along with my genuine fascination with the subject, which fuels my desire to study it further.
I am currently taking Maths, Chemistry and Biology to Advanced Higher, all of which are challenging and stimulating subjects. They have all influenced me in different ways and were integral in my decision to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering. They have also helped me obtain a foundation of core skills and extended knowledge to hopefully prepare me undertaking my desired degree. There is no doubt that Maths and chemistry have helped fine tune and advance my problem solving skills and think in a more logical manner, all of which I believe to be essential for this degree.

In that regard, my classes do emphasize atomic physics and chemistry, but they also offer substantial opportunity for practical experience. Not everybody loves Biology,.. either do I. I always terrify at those subjects. They are difficult, dry, bloody, and involved to a lot of memorization. A side from that there are tons of reasons that hold me back from becoming a nurse. I don’t like the subjects, I am scared of blood. Despite all of that, I found that it is challenging.When I was in 11th grade I had the passion for chemistry. I like doing all the labs, observing chemical reactions, and combine or calculate the percentage of substances. I always think that chemistry is the most excited class I have ever took besides math, and foreign language.
I converted from a marine science major to both chemistry and biology due to the lull these two fields hold over me. My classes have only deepened my passion for these fields, and I hope to one-day study biomedical research. My classes in cell and molecular biology and organic chemistry drew a great interest for me. I enjoy studying how different chemicals work and how the react with the human body. Since I was young, I have always been interested in the medical field and have wanted to help people.
At the end of school, I knew I had a fascination with biomedical science. This meant me choosing biology, maths, and Pe as a levels so I can learn more about topics that intrigue me .Biology has helped develop scientific and experimental skills through practical work and has given me an insight into topics like genetics and biochemistry. Due to the same affinity towards Mathematics, Science and research in general, I have opted for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as my major subjects in high school (XII th standard), where I have scored the top marks with 91%. The various processes and concepts involved in industries responsible for the production of innumerable day to day goods have always captured my fascination. The production and processing of chemicals form the crux of such industries. What started as a fascination has turned into a passion, and the next step in this journey is why i am aspiring towards a Master of Science degree in CHEMICAL ENGINEERING at PENN ENGINEERING specializing in {Specialization}.
Though many people fail to realize it, chemistry is a subject essential to everyday life, due to the fact that it is the branch of science that deals with the identification of the substances of which matter is composed. But what we must understand is that everything in the universe is composed of matter, hence chemistry is necessary in learning more about the world and universe that we live in. There are many careers and fields affiliated with chemistry that people pursue to learn more about the composition of the universe, but for now, let us examine the logistics of three of these careers. These three careers involving chemistry are geochemistry, environmental chemistry, and chemical engineering.
Chemistry and environmental science were some of my favorite kinds of science. Once I moved on from primary grades, I did not have as much experience was taking science courses. The only science course I had to take where ones that were based in education and slightly different than other science classes I had taken. What I love about chemistry is that it provides answers to many important questions, whilst simultaneously creating new ideas and concepts begging to be explored. I like to think of chemistry as a jigsaw puzzle; all the elements as pieces. Each piece, as unique as the next. The pieces only fit together in certain ways, only in the way their electronic structures allow them to. The many and complex ways they all fit together is truly fascinating.
Ever since I began studying science and mathematics at all levels of educations I have always had an interest in the production of useful materials. In the growing turmoil of today; a world full of global warming and diminishing resources, questions often arise in my mind such as, "can we make a more efficient, more durable and a renewable resource that will overshadow fossil fuels? and have less of an impact on our environment?" Up to now, I have not found a solution to these questions and answering these questions is a personal aspiration of mine which I aim to fulfil by achieving a degree in Chemical engineering and eventually I will contribute to the field in my own unique way. The debate surrounding sustainable energy fascinates me, having recently learned from personal research I have understood what an authoritative role chemists and chemical engineers play in the industry at the present time and how, by working as a team, they contribute to an improved future for the whole world. However, one of the main reasons that has single-mindedly driven me this far to want to study chemical engineering is a book I have read, “Beyond the Molecular Frontier: Challenges for Chemistry and Chemical Engineering” While reading this book, I had solidified my understandings of what chemical engineering is all about. Also, one of the main processes mentioned was polymerisation and is something I already study in A-level chemistry, it is something that not only interests me, but is a personal career aspiration of mine. Reading this book gave me a determination to be the person who helps improve the future of the industry and provide an answer to the questions I always ask myself by studying this degree.
Biochemistry is a natural choice for me as it combines the most challenging and rewarding aspects of these subjects. I have alongside this growing interest, acquired the academic, investigative and practical skills necessary to be successful in biochemistry. Studying both biology and chemistry has led me to continuously make links between the two subjects. These two subjects cannot be separated for a firm understanding of the body. For example the synthesis of proteins from amino acids.
With my GPA, I was honored on the Dean's List three times. I found that I am extremely excited about biology and chemistry, so I have chosen zoology as my major and chemistry as my minor in order to acquire an in-depth understanding of anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry. I have taken many science classes, which were difficult and challenging, but difficult challenges stimulate my curiosity, and I enjoy intellectual challenges. In the future, I would like to explore the world of human biology and the diversity of chemistry. In addition to biology and chemistry, I have taken classes in physics and mathematics to boost my analytical and logical abilities.
An education is best valued when it is used to serve one’s community at a larger aspect- this belief has been imprinted in my judgment from the commencement of my undergraduate study. This persuasion and a natural aptitude for energy science and mathematics induced me that petroleum engineering is the most fitting career for me and developed a sense in my mind that higher study is mandatory to be competent in this field. I desire a master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering followed by a PhD not only because it is the most fulfilling way to exercise my natural talent as a scholar but also it will give me the opportunity to serve my country as she has paucity of researchers in this discipline.
At the Univ. of Manchester, I got more opportunities to sharpen my research and practical abilities. In the coursework of VLSI design: logic gates circuit design, I designed schematic diagram and layout, and constructed models for simulations. Subsequently, I constantly adjusted relevant parameters based on the simulations and theoretical knowledge. In two weeks of continuous testing, I ultimately designed a chip circuit with a high response speed. Additionally, in the alarm clock design project based on Microchip PIC18F6722, I not only achieved the fundamental alarm functions on the basis of the limited circuit components and a microcontroller, but independently designed extra functions so that users can load music files via USB port. The clock could produce the corresponding melody as the alarm simply through a single buzzer. Although these are simple practices, the process of applying knowledge to actual applications brings me closer to my dream of becoming an
