Life for the past 21 years has thought me to practice and appreciate the art of learning. I question myself looking at every electronic gadget on “how is it made?” and “how does it work?” thus instigating an insatiable hunger inside me. This fascination for electronic gadgets prompted me to choose Computer Engineering as the major for my Bachelor’s Degree. On the academic front, my teachers were the main guiding force in identifying my penchant for mathematics and science and harnessed it to lay a strong foundation.
During the course of my undergraduate program, my brief stint as an in-plant trainee in Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited, Kudamkulam gave me an industrial exposure apart academic proficiency where I learnt the basics of Computer and wireless networking. This broadened my understanding of various switched networks, routing protocols and significance of connection less and connection oriented communications.
Through my college, I also went to the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) which was an enriching experience. It was highly motivating and made me think outside the textbooks and learn practical execution of engineering concepts. This was my first encounter which taught me how a creative and innovative idea's could transform fundamental features into powerful tools.
Attaining significant expertise in C, C++ and Java helped me set a firm grasp on my trajectory. In eagerness to equip myself in the subject, I attended various workshops and did a mini-project to realize my understanding. Being a member of IEEE digital library, I skimmed through many journals and publications which helped me a lot in working on my research project and papers. The first piece of technology that was introduced to me was the amazing, ground-breaking GameBoy created by Nintendo. My parents believed that my obsession with video games in my juvenile years would be the cause of my downfall when I would become an adult with no job, no money, and still lived with my parents. I admit that I did have an addiction in the beginning, but over the years it moderated as I became more attracted to what was actually done to develop the devices and programs that once ensnared me. Enrolling into a vocational high school, I selected Programming & Web Development as my choice of trade in order for me to learn more about this extraordinary field of science. Soon I began compiling my own applications, but with a method unorthodox compared to my classmates; I believed that the vivid aesthetics and simple navigation displayed on applications were just as crucial as the tediously compiled, intricate code virtually hidden underneath. With every annual keynote that was broadcasted from numerous Silicon Valley companies, their latest innovations constantly entertained my curiosity. The world today is a void without computers, be it healthcare, commerce or any other field, the industry won’t thrive without Information Technology and Computer Science. This ever-growing field of technology has aroused interest in me since my childhood. After my twelfth grade, the inherent ardor I held for Computer Science motivated me to do a bachelors degree in Information Technology. I took up Computer Science and Engineering as my discipline in Bhoj Reddy Engineering College for Women affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, one of the premier institutes in India. My undergraduate education has been a great learning and enriching process for me. It exposed me to all the core areas of Computer Science like operating systems, database management systems, networks and network security, data structures, algorithms and software engineering. These courses have given me a good foundation in the core concepts. My interest lies in Database Management, Programming Languages, Theory of Computation, and Software Engineering. I am fully acquainted with the fast growing subjects like Object Oriented Programming, Analysis and Design. On the other hand, the intensive laboratory classes exposed me to a fascinating world of experimentation. It was here that I discovered the qualities of perseverance and diligence in myself. I feel that these courses have done a lot to prepare me for my future studies and research work.
Ever since I was a child, I have had a great interest for the automotive industry. From car trivia to novel innovations, my innate passion for the automotive industry has always made me research the minutest detail of every vehicle that interested me. Since elementary school I would draw sketches of cars which incorporated technology which were unheard of at that time; novel devices such as electrochromic windshields, HUD displays, and wind turbines which would constantly re-generate electricity for the car. While growing up, my hobbies largely consisted of constructing countless Lego and Meccano sets, and repairing my mom’s 19 year-old car. In middle school, math and science were my favorite subjects: applying science and mathematics to solve real-world problems has fascinated me and I have also taken further steps to reach my goals. By the age of thirteen I devised a scaled model of a heliostat power plant, which successfully powered a light bulb. Engineering has been a key interest of mine since childhood. While still in grade school I enjoyed listening to my father, an electrical engineer, teach me about advances in technology, and was always eager to hear more. I was introduced to my first computer at the age of five, and have loved interacting with them ever since. My decision to study engineering as a career was no surprise to those who knew me.
This perfectly holds true for me in the world of Computer Engineering where novel ideas are not a novelty. It is this novelty that entices me to this field and gives me a deep sense of professional pride. In this context, I would like to pursue my graduation in Computer Engineering, which not only supplements the knowledge that I possess but also provides a strong platform for my future career goals.

From my perspective, excellent electronic engineers are a group of gifted and imaginative talents who bravely explore and innovate, change the world with passion and innovation. I have always dreamed of becoming one of them. For realizing this dream, I started from China 's Jilin University and then joined The University of Manchester for BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering to take more advanced professional courses. In UoM, I managed to gain GPA of 4.0. Yet, my pursuit of the dream does not end there, since I plan to apply for M.S. program in Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Carnegie Mellon University, where I can receive the best education among the world.
My first major step towards my goal was getting through the most competitive engineering entrance exam the All India Engineering Entrance Examination. Having cleared it successfully paved the way for me into one of the most coveted Universities of India, Amity University. I started my journey of Mechanical Engineering with alacrity. The most striking incident of my freshman year was attending a technical workshop on Autocad, delivered by Appin Technology Labs. The workshop was not only an enthralling experience for me personally but sharpened my technical skills too. It enhanced my knowledge about design and at the same time widened my idea of how a good design can enhance the agility and strength of a mechanical body.
