Star Wars super fan, Max Mezrah, recently had the experience of a lifetime; he travelled to London for the premiere of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. He later went to Paris to watch the film again. Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens was one of the most highly anticipated releases of 2015. The 2 hour and 16 minute film released on December 18 made a whopping $248M on opening weekend. It has now grossed $1,766,587,937 worldwide. “Star Wars was, at the time, a cultural revolution. It changed the entire movie industry, like basically head-over-heals. It redefined the Sci-Fi industry. It introduced a lot more special effects and practical effects that looked like CGI but wasn’t. Also because the storyline is about a guy who …show more content…
When Mezrah learned that there was a new Star Wars movie coming out he was overjoyed. “I cried. I’m serious, I cried every time I watched it. Every time I watched the trailer it was literally like heaven had fallen on my plate and I was just devouring it. It just wouldn’t end. It was the best.” His family was already planning a trip to Europe before the movie’s announcement, after the release date was made public he convinced his family to …show more content…
There were people crying at certain points. I know my dad cried about five or six times, I cried about twice. It’s just that amazing.” Mezrah’s family traveled to Paris to view the movie again. “Paris, I think, is more historical. On the movie side I guess it’s more commercialized. In the part that we were at it looked a lot like a New York city in a sense. In terms of Star Wars, there were French subtitles that was it.” Though Mezrah has his criticisms, “I think they should have made it a little bit longer, maybe two hours and thirty minutes”, he still thinks it’s a good film. “You’re crazy for not seeing the movie. Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens is not just a reboot of the Star Wars franchise. The movie within itself is a great plot. It may be a little rushed, which is what some people don’t like. A rushed movie is a bad movie but it’s hard to squeeze that much information into two hours and sixteen minutes...it was great movie. It’s made over a billion dollars. It’s now the highest grossing movie in America ever,”. A slew of new Star Wars movies have already been announced. Watch the Force Awakens to catch up in time for the new releases. If you're still not convinced watch the trailer, and may the force be with
Rogue One not only surpasses the other films in the franchise, but it does so in a clear and well thought out way. It's a film that had no reason to exist but it does meaningfully with a concise plot. The exposition event is when Director Orson Krennic invades Jyn Else's home and tries to make her father Galen Erso work with the Empire. This ends poorly and the Empire killed Galens wife and takes Galen into their ship while Jyn barely escapes. Rising action then takes place when Jyn, K-2SO and Cassian arrives at the holy city of Jedha. They soon discover Saw Gerrera and find out that they need to get the Death Star plans. They then head to Eadu to find Galen Erso and after sometime arguing head to the Imperial’s base on Scariff. The climax occurs when Jyn Erso is about to send the Death Star plans to the rebellion but confronts Krennic. Cassian defeats him and he goes with Jyn to the beach while the watch the planet blows up. The falling action is when Darth vader inceps the Death Star plans but the rebels escape. The resolution is when Prisons Leia is asked what the plans mean and she says Hope.
The famous Star Wars is a movie from the epic space film series directed by George Lucas premiered in 1977. Since there are multiple Star Wars movies in the series, this paper will be focusing on the first movie of the series called Star Wars: A New Hope.
The Star Wars Films are a great series of trilogies made by Lucasfilm, and thought up by George Walton Lucas. The original Star Wars films are some of the most well known known movies ever made. Until George Lucas retired and sold Star Wars to Disney for 4 billion dollars. But Disney had almost no experience making good sci-fi movies.
Macbeth is a play written by William Shakespeare. It is considered one of his darkest and most powerful tragedies. Set in Scotland, the play dramatizes the corrosive psychological and political effects produced when evil is chosen as a way to fulfil the ambition for power. The play is believed to have been written between 1603 and 1607, and is most commonly dated 1606. It is a timeless classic and its themes resonate within some of the most common movies and books of modern times. Star Wars is an American epic space opera franchise centered on a film series created by George Lucas. The film series, consisting of two trilogies, has spawned an extensive media franchise called the Expanded Universe including books, television series, computer and video games, and comic books. The franchise depicts a galaxy described as far, far away in the distant past, and it commonly portrays Jedi as a representation of good, in conflict with the Sith, their evil counterpart. Their weapon of choice, the lightsaber, is commonly recognized in popular culture. It is arguably a cinematic masterpiece, holding in rank two of possibly the greatest trilogies the world has ever seen. It is a timeless epic which embodies within it an allegory for the history of the world; the rise and fall of empires and their emperors; the pursuit of power; the melting pot of cultures; the struggle for survival; the advancement of human technology; and most importantly as a whole, the history of humanity. Steven D. Graynus declared, “Ultimately, what the Star Wars films offer is….rousing storytelling suffused by themes of moral struggle and transcendence” (Decent Films Guide). The franchise's storylines contain many themes, with strong influences from philosophy and religio...
Star Wars A New Hope (1977) follows the American trend of political ideas that maintains America united by having someone being the bad guy hence, Darth Vador. In Star Wars Darth Vador is not a villain but rather more complex he is a leader, a powerful figure, and a threat that is very relatable to Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin. All and all, Star Wars present a positive cultural message towards their audiences thus, inspiring new hopes for the younger generation of the 70’s.
Quite possibly one of the most iconic openings in cinematic history is “A Long time ago in a galaxy far far away.” Of course, I am referring to Star Wars. It is such a fascinating and great movie going experience. There have been a total of seven Star Wars films, but in this essay I am going to be focusing on Star Wars: Episode 3- Revenge of the Sith. This film was written and directed by George Lucas and of the science fiction genre. Revenge of the Sith was released in theaters on May 19, 2005.
Like to know that the first Star Wars came out in 1977 and the movie is so clean as in special effects that it would make any geek overfill with excitement and possibly rewatch the whole movie again it’s just a movie you will never get tired of.
The incredible popularity of the Star Wars universe was surprising to Lucas when he first made it. In fact, every producer he proposed the idea to rejected it, except for one: Twentieth Century Fox. At this time, science fiction (also called sci-fi) was not in any respects a profitable movie idea, but Lucas was determined to make his film. The executives of Twentieth Century Fox had seen Lucas’s previous film, American Graffiti, and vowed to produce Lucas’s next movie. Lucas made a deal with Fox that would end up making Lucas a multi-millionaire. The deal seemed so ridiculous to Fox that they thought they were ripping him off. In 1977, the first film of the second trilogy, Star Wars: A New Hope, was released, smashing box offices across the country and soon becoming the most successful film in North American history.
Star Wars is a science fiction adventure novel. The symbolism and characterization was really excellent in the story. The story gives a great look into the future as it has many different types of things we have not yet invented; blaster rifles, space ships that go the speed of light, fat alien slugs, and beam swords. The plot of the story sucks you into the novel and makes you want to continue reading the novel.
It has a huge impact on popular culture that people feel obligated to go see the films. Star Wars movies are shown and promoted nearly worldwide. In addition, Star Wars is one of the first films to have the most successful merchandise franchise. “These movies began building buzz long before they opened and commanded coverage in magazines and the emerging genre of infotainment television” (Bordwell and Thompson 683), basically Star Wars is a mega picture. It is everywhere and all over people’s faces, for example Episode VII has been promoted in the past year all over the world. The movie tickets in many theaters have sold out because people feel obligated to see it. On the other hand, films in the 1890’s did not have the type of promotion Star Wars has received, but a lot of people went to see the short silent films. Due to a few reasons: for entertainment, escape reality, popular culture, and going out to the movie theater to watch a film was a social norm at the time. When it came to merchandise, Disney was doing it for years, but merchandise did not make a huge impact until Star Wars. As a result, Star Wars changed and inspired new promotion and money-making strategies for all the Hollywood
You can add Star Wars hobbyists to the equation. The build-up to Star Wars: The Force Awakens got very real when a poster for the series’ seventh installment was released on Sunday morning, exactly two months before the movie’s December 18 premiere. (The first full trailer will premiere during Monday Night Football tomorrow.)
The recently released ‘Star Wars: The Force Unleashed’ has become the best-selling Star Wars game, or of any game previously released by LucasArts , of all time shifting over 1.5 million copies of the title. LucasArts also underestimated how popular the game would become with ‘unprecedented demand’. “This further emphasizes the undiminished popularity of Star Wars” ( Faylor C, 2008 ).
This may sound like blasphemy, but I have never seen a Star Wars movie. Growing up with the last name Force, I can’t tell you how many times I heard, “may the force be with you,” and had no idea what they were talking about! I’ll be honest, there was a time when I wanted to see the movie, but there is a piece of me that refuses because there is an expectation that I would because of my last name. I guess it’s the punk rock in me, I don’t know.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is much like a moral tale due to, that the movie shows the principles of right and wrong. Which conforms the standards of behaviours and the characters on those principles. Some characters are non-human (by our standards) which could be loosely perceived as talking animals, another common theme among moral tales. The movie also teaches morals that are imbedded psychologically which every watcher can understand in their own way. Morals are different in different ways in every person which is what makes Star Wars: The Force Awakens a fairly great moral tale since almost any viewer can relate in some shape or form to the movie and its characters.
The day finally came and I took, or should I say dragged, my boyfriend to see it with me. From the second it started I was completely mesmerized by the movie. The music, the characters, the set, it was all so wonderful. There was a point in the movie that I was crying and I even forgot that my boyfriend was there with me. He turned to me and asked me why I was crying. I simply turned to him and said, "Shhhh!!". I didn't want him to ruin the mood. As we walked out of the theater I found myself to be a little depressed. The sadness of the tragedy was still on my mind.
