Sports Marketing Career Research Paper

I have always had a passion for sports. That is why sports marketing is a perfect career for me. I have watched and participated in sports for all of my life. I continue to participate in them today because I find joy and relaxation in sports. I have also found other careers through research that I have conducted. The other careers that I have researched are very appealing. Although they are appealing, I am going to go with my passion and become a sports marketer. The other two careers that I researched were a lawyer and a physical education teacher. Both had good qualities, but neither equate to my love for sports.

Upon taking my type A/B personality test I discovered that I have a type A personality. This shows that I can easily

stress over things and may not trust others doing my work. Having a type A personality shows that they can develop heart diseases easier. This test helped me remove occupations from my list of potential careers. This is one test that helped me narrow it down to my final three choices.
The second test I took, the Hexagon personality traits test, allowed me to research careers in more depth. The Hexagon test showed that I am a doer, thinker, and organizer. A doer is someone who is good with their hands and enjoys to make things. A thinker is someone who is good with numbers and solving problems. An organizer is good at organizing their environment around them. A trait, that was my fourth result, that I thought described me was a persuader. They are good at influencing others to think a different way. This test also helped me to rule out various other careers. Although many careers were ruled out, we took another test to help us rule out a few more.
After completing the Myer Briggs personality test I found that I was an ESTP. Which stands for extravert, sensor, thinker, and judger. This tests description of me was very precise. It shows that I am very realistic and I am curious about what is presented to me . Being an ESTP shows that I am responsible, logical, and observant. They tend to be popular, gracious, eager to please, and talkative. ESTP’s meet and interact with many people spontaneously. Trying to express their opinions can come across bossy and domineering. They avoid conflicts instead of dealing with them head-on. ESTP’s sometimes live too much in the moment. The test told me that I would be best in business and sales. This test really helped to narrow it down to my final career choices.
My multiple intelligence test shows that my intelligences were logical strength, kinesthetic strength, and intrapersonal strength. The logical strength result shows that these learners are good with numbers and are practical. The kinesthetic strength shows the ability to control body movements and handle objects skillfully. They have a good sense of balance and hand-eye coordination. The intrapersonal strength shows the ability to self-reflect and be aware of one’s inner state of being. They try to understand relationships with others. This test shows that I should pursue in being a physical education teacher, an athlete, and a sales person. I decided that something I might want to pursue would be a physical education teacher.
My work importance profiler suggested that I become a insurance sales agent, property and casualty insurance, and a lawyer. A lawyer advocates, advises, and consoles the client that they are representing (ABA). I believe that this career fits be pretty well. I do because I am a persuasive person and lawyers are very persuasive people.
I was introduced to career clusters. The interest profiler told me that the best careers for me were a sales representative, real estate agent, and a lawyer. I ruled out office clerk and real estate agent because I do not find either of them interesting or as something that I would pursue at a later time. The lawyer career is something that I would pursue. The job seems interesting and is also a pretty good fit for me as it deals with persuasion.
The minimal education needed to be a sports marketer is a bachelor’s degree. Some companies encourage sports marketers to get a Master of Business Administration, otherwise known as an MBA. There are some general marketing degrees that you can get, but most employers prefer a bachelor’s degree. There is a very wide range of degree programs that specialize in marketing.
There are many skills needed to be a successful sports marketer. The first being attentive to detail. Sports marketers notice every little thing to capitalize on opportunities. Another skill needed is communication. A good sports marketer has magnificent social skills. They are easily able to communicate ideas with coworkers and other member of the organization. The last needed skill is self-confidence. Sports marketers have faith in themselves and believe that they are the best for the job and that they help the company tremendously.
A sports marketer makes a pretty reasonable salary. The average annual beginning salary is $51,000. The more you work and are with that organization the more you get paid. The average annual pay is $115,750. This is around $55 an hour. The salary is a very good one and it is more than enough to support a family.
The job outlook for sports marketing is very good as well. The industry is slowly growing faster. With how large it is now, it will surely be huge in the future. It is projected that the industry will grow 13% within the next decade. This opens up a lot of doors as the industry is expanding. The downfall to the industry is that there is a very low turnover. There is not always going to be a lot of openings so getting a wanted degree is good.
Sports marketing is an amazing career for anyone who has self-confidence and great communication skills.

It is also well suited for someone who loves sports. The best sports marketers are enthusiastic and can deal with requests that come in from everywhere. Sports marketing is exciting and sports marketers often enjoy a busy and fulfilling career with high job satisfaction and earnings.

The next career is a lawyer. The education needed to be a lawyer requires a lot of work and it is very lengthy. To become a lawyer, you need a doctoral or a professional degree. This takes an average of eight years to get. The education needed for a lawyer is a lot of work and is hard, but the salary is high.

There are a lot of key skills needed to become a lawyer. The first is logical reasoning. Lawyers need to use logical and numerical facts to support their clients claims. The lawyer may need to use math skills and they may even need to solve practical problems. A lawyer also has to be persuasive. They have to persuade the judge and the court to rule in their favor. A lawyer's typical day is fairly long. If it is a day where the lawyer has a court session then the day is a lot busier. On court session days, a lawyer starts their day reviewing their clients case. They have to become well prepared with answers and defense statements for their clients as well. They are then ready to go into court and plead for their clients side of the case. After that, they have to check other ongoing cases to make sure that they have all the information they need to succeed in court.
The third career that I have chosen is a physical education teacher. The minimal education needed for a physical education teacher is a four-year bachelor’s degree. You must also be licensed in the state that they wish to teach. However, in some states you may have to take another test to become a physical education teacher.
There are multiple skills needed to be a good physical education teacher.

They first off need to have some athletic ability. Physical education teachers have to teach and play with their students. If they cannot perform the things that their students are doing then there is an issue. Another skill that a physical education teacher needs is patients. They may be teaching a class a brand new sport and the class may not understand it right away. They must be patient for the class to learn things even if it takes a while. The last skill that physical education teachers is creativity. They need to be able to create games and activities on their own and give the students new and exciting things to do.

Next, the physical education teachers salary. On average a high school physical education teacher makes an annual average of $55,712. A elementary physical education teacher does not make as much, they only make an annual average of $53,430. The more credits you have the more money that you are going to get. For example, someone with a bachelor’s degree plus 60 credits makes about $3,000 more a year that someone who has a bachelor’s degree but only 30

The physical education teachers industry is growing. With America becoming more and more obese, there is a greater need for movement within the youth. There is an expected 7% growth in the industry within the next 12 years. However, more and more physical education teachers have to also teach a health or driving class along with their physical education class.
Lastly, a physical education teachers daily day is pretty long. Typically, teachers must report to the school around 7:30 A.M. They are then supposed to get ready for the day ahead. Physical education teachers then give students instructions on what the activity is that they are doing and how to play it. The day for them ends around 3:45 P.M. They work five days a week.
