Imagine this, your waiting for your child to get home, and you here the brakes of the school bus outside. When suddenly your hear a loud screech, then the screaming of young children. Now the driver is saying that it was an accident but she ran the stop sign. Now there is a darkness that haunts you all because they didn't stop on red.
What are the exact regulations you are required to follow? Stop for flashing red lights on a school bus, regardless of which direction you're headed. Continue your trip once the bus has moved, the flashing lights stop flashing or the bus driver signals it's okay to pass.

”The penalties if convicted of violatingSchool Bus Stopping Law include: $250 fine , Five points on your driving record, and 60-day license suspension.” This isn't going to make people stop doing what they are doing, we need to put fear into them, something that will set them straight, not just taking away their license. They aren't children anymore and we need to show them that we aren't afraid to lay down the …show more content…
Do not pass the school bus until: the school bus has resumed motion, or you are signaled by the driver to proceed, or the red lights are no longer flashing. It isn’t necessary to stop when passing a school bus on a different road or when on a controlled-access highway where the bus is stopped in a loading zone and pedestrians aren’t permitted to cross.” What's so difficult to understand about that? I mean its just saying if you see a school bus with blinking lights you are required to stop for it. This happens around 70,000 times everyday, and guess what happens people are getting killed. There are hundreds of cases just like this every year.
The biggest questions on every ones mind is what is being dine to stop it? According to Moriah Balingit ,"School officials stationed the bus in front of Wakefield on Wednesday to demonstrate how the special cameras work. Mounted in two places on the side of the bus, the cameras activate when the bus stops and deploys its stop signs and flashers. They can catch multiple views of a passing car and send the video to the police department, which will review the footage and send a citation to the vehicle’s owner.” Is this enough? Just giving people
In Houston, Texas alone there are around one hundred stoplights. Recently, a law has been drafted to place cameras on the stoplights and Houston and the surrounding suburbs. These "red-light cameras" or RLCs as they are called automatically take a picture of a vehicle breaking the law by running the stoplight and sends the owner a seventy-five dollar ticket. This method of ticketing is incredibly inefficient and should be removed. The camera system fails to notify the recipients of the tickets in a fair amount of time, does not take into account if the owner is driving, and according to the people of Houston should not even be in place. The current system that the red-light cameras are under is flawed and should be removed completely.

In the late 1920’s, school buses and larger industrial vehicles became a popular source of transportation that started from Ford dealership owner, A.L. Luce. Luce had plans to extend the school bus frame (from a Model T) to accompany more students per one bus. As school buses and city buses became more common throughout America’s cities for daily transportation, safety regulations and precautions were put in place. Safety features, including flashing caution lights, visors outside of the vehicle, and motorized stop signs and stop arms were all installed within the next 80 years to make the journey to and from school safer. Although many of these precautions were taken, many citizens believe that not enough action was taken to promote safety on school buses. Because a variety of school bus companies do not have a stance on whether seatbelts should be installed or not, the safety concerns mainly impact parents and school leaders. A good solution for many of those concerned would be the installation of seatbelts on every school bus within the United States, but the reality of seatbelts being on buses is quite the opposite of what people believe. Seatbelts are not the justification to these safety issues concerning school corporations and parents nationwide, as the seatbelts are a costly and dangerous factor.
In today’s day and age, there are so many excuses for distracted driving. Lives are put at risk every time a distracted motorist is on the road, and deaths have increased by a substantial amount in the last ten years. On Thursday, April 26th, 2014, one woman’s bad judgement cost her life (Hastings, 1). Not only was she affected, but her friends and family assuredly felt a pain in their hearts. In the few seconds it took Courtney Ann Sanford to post a few words on Facebook, it was enough to distract her from the road and to drive across another lane and through a median straight into a truck (Hastings, 1).
My dad and I go hunting every weekend during deer season which is from mid of Novmber to the first of Janurary. We go sit at 6:00am and we leave at 8:00am,but why we sit we will be wacthing birds and squirrals playing in the place we have corn they will eat it like deer does.We half to sit still were the deer can’t see us in the deer stand. When we go hunting you have to climb up in the deer stand and then sit patiertly to wait for something to come out of the woods. We look three or four different way in the stand.”My dad stated,” theres a deer.We go hunting in Pearson Georgia. When we go hunting we have to be careful because the gun could go off.It could be dangous going hunting by yourself. But if anything happen I can help him.Because we

Implementing stronger laws is an action step; it is not passive. The other ways were mostly passive, and not aggressive enough. This makes it so that there is a consequence even if they did not get in a wreck. The law must work harder to look down on this, and see it as the threat it really is. (U.S. Department of Labor). Another great way to combat distracted driving is educating our children and students better on the issue of distracted driving. (Idaho Transportation Department). Assemblies should be held, and I believe that students should have to take a test on distracted driving. In order to pass the class, they should have to create a presentation on the subject, and sign a pledge. This is a big issue, and it needs to be handled, and dealt with as such. The benefits far outweigh the costs. The benefits will be saving real human beings lives. The cost will merely be a little extra work, and a little extra
In fall 2008 Ryan Didone was with four of his friends, when he hit a tree with his car. He died at the hospital as 15 years old. Captain Thomas Didone works at the police department, and he is Ryan’s father. He never thought he was those parents who would get a phone call like that. If it could happen to him, it could happen to anyone. Ryan’s father was with his son, the day he was born, and he unfortunately had to be with his son, the day he died, and he never wishes that to any parents. It was an inexperienced, and immature driver and to high speed at night with some other kids. He was going too fast. Ryan gave serious trauma for the rest of the community.
The fierce hand strikes again. There is no sense of motherly or fatherly love when sharp pains stem from vermillion scars appearing on your undeveloped and sensitive hand. Would you like to experience this everlasting pain?
During the dark hours, my grandfather was walking the streets in El Monte, California. It never crossed his mind that during that night his life would flash before his eyes. He was at a crosswalk where he pressed the button to cross the street. Once the cross light switched for him to cross, he did. He took his first step off the sidewalk and began walking. My grandfather did not realize what was to come once he stepped off the sidewalk. A car approached going over the speed limit. The person in the car was under the influence and ran a red light. It was then that my grandfather was hit by a drunk driver. My grandfather passed away at the sight of the scene. The young adult that hit him was taken into custody and put on trial for my grandfather’s death. If it wasn’t for the drunk driver who ran the red light that night my grandfather would still be alive today. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Today there are
“For example, there is a child named Xavier but his mother calls him “ X” he's a 8 year old and is paralyzed from the diaphragm and down he can not breath on his own, walk, move his right hand, or play again due to someone passing a 4 way stop sign because they were texting and driving. Early october morning Xavier and his sister Aurle were walking down the street and right when they were going to cross the street there was no car coming but as soon as they grabbed hands to cross the street Aurle didn't see or feel her brother holding her hand because someone texting and driving took him at the bumper of their car. He is now not a ordinary 8 year old boy because he has to deal with the pain someone
Everyday there are people who commute on streets and highways, they are trying to get to where they want to go. The biggest dilemma is ‘how’ they get to their destination not many of us pay attention, but 97% of us drive with distractions. The other percentages consists of six consequently dangerous ways, which include, texting, drinking, applying makeup, reading, eating, and arguing with others while behind the wheel. All of these are very hazardous, costly, and sadly deadly. Distracted drivers put lives in jeopardy everyday and if a ticket saves a life, then it would be worth it and hopefully make the person realize that the text can wait. Some may say that teenagers are the more prone to be distracted while behind the wheel but its not just them, everyday people are susceptible to this, moms, dads, businessmen, etc. it is irresponsible of any person not including, police officers who pull over and park their cruiser so they may use any device they have. Not every state has laws to prevent all forms of distractions behind the wheel. But there are a some laws that ban Driving while intoxicated and texting while in school zones. According to the CDC each day in the United States nine more people are killed then 1060 crashes are reported involving a distracted driver.” Several innocent drivers are put in unpredictable situations having to be surrounded by distracted drivers, we all have to drive for each other and it is especially harder when people are not paying attention to the road. The numbers of people being killed in crashes involving a distracted driver has increased and is expected to rise with the expansion of technology. Distracted driving can increase chances of a possible vehicle crash. There is no specific group that...
For many of us when we get sick or have a pre-existing condition and need medications we have our doctors send the prescriptions to our pharmacy of choice or have a paper copy we can take ourselves. When getting to the pharmacy you always have one questions for the person behind the counter and that is “are my prescriptions ready yet?” You left your doctor’s appointment fifteen minutes ago why wouldn’t it be ready yet. What we don’t know is that there is a process to getting prescriptions ready for us, the one going through the process for up to hundreds of people a day is my girlfriend Amanda Duran.
For Example “ That’s the best protection that was can give our kids. It’s what they’re used to in cars,” Herman said. “We know that there are very few fatalities involving children on school buses every year-- they are a safe form of transportation-- but anything that we can do to make them safer is really our responsibility”( Jacqueline Howard, CNN). This shows that seat belts are the best way to protect not only the people on the buses but the drivers on the road. If a driver is wearing a seat belt and anyone on the bus is we have more protection against anything we all stand
Due to recent events of this year, I think the topic of safety regulations concerning school busses should be addressed immediately and actions needs to be sought out. There was a reason that seat belts were made, and there is a clear path towards putting them into school busses all over the untied states. If kids were able to wear a seat belt during a bus ride, then if the bus was to be involved in an accident then they have a higher chance of being injured than being
