Speaking Up In The Face Of Injustice

Injustice happens everywhere to anyone. Regardless of race, sex, gender, or eye color someone will experience some type of injustice. As humans, we should all stick together and help end these injustices one by one. Therefore, when someone sees an injustice, they should speak about it because it will help decrease the likelihood of it recurring. When one injustice ends, then surely another one will end. It is difficult to end injustices because it occurs everywhere and some people are not capable of speaking up. They would not be capable of speaking up because they feel threatened or they feel as if their voice is not strong enough to make a change. Everyone’s voice is strong and anyone is capable of change. It takes motivation, strength and some encouragement to speak up. Speaking up in the face of injustice is complicated, since it is easier to be the bystander. When a person is the bystander, they are not getting themselves involved in a business that does not belong to theirs and it is definitely safer and easier to sit back and watch. If no one does anything, then the perpetrator will think whatever they doing is fine. Knowing that being a bystander, does nothing to improve the situation; it expanded my perespective that I should always speak up when there is a negative occurence. …show more content…

I have seen countless headlines of this injustice on the news, but it is not getting the coverage it deserves. People need to learn more about what is happening on their campus and the college they want to attend to. This injustice affected me the most because in a few months I will be attending college and finding out how common assaults are on campus leaves me in frightented state. I do not want to become a victim of this or want any of my friends to experience such
