Today, I decided to explore the basement. I opened the door and walked down the stairs. As my feet hit the creaky steps, my heart was beating a mile a minute because of what I might find. Once my foot hit the hard ground, I turned my head to see a big, bulky machine right in front of my eyes. It was quite long and dirty, like it was untouched for many years. It was black, close to the night sky. As I walked closer, I noticed stars covering it. I slowly moved my fingers and hand to the giant machine. I looked around and noticed a dirty white cloth. I grabbed it and wiped away some of the dirt and dust attached to it. As I did this, I noticed the machine started to glow all blue. The door opened and I checked behind me to see if anyone …show more content…
The shuttle was slowly brought in. I was brought in. People were everywhere. They must be looking for places to sleep for the night. I rushed to the huge window to see the earth slowly crumble before my eyes. I bent my head in sadness. I decided to find my room. I opened the door and sat on the bed. I dont have anything so I dont have to unpack. But, two things swirl in my mind. The first is, whose the person who destroyed earth and where will we end up? I felt as if the ship went neons of years before we were coming in for a landing. When it did, me and a couple others’ were the first to come out. As my feet touched the lush ground, I knew I would have to get use to my new home. Since the trips on both the shuttle and ship were not all that great, I am not going into another ship for a while. As I stood there, I felt different. As if, something has changed. I was right. My skin turned a different color, blue. Well, I guess somethings got to happen. I soon heard that this planet is called Xeno and that we would be living on it. Im glad we have a home. As the sun began to set, I decided to figure out how to get home. I turned my head to see the machine. I ran into it, dialing back to my
As I stepped off the plane, I felt a dry desert breeze wrap around me and breathed in the smoggy, dusty air. My family and I managed to make our way through...
I had woken up extra early that morning to watch it all happen. To watch part of my life that had been ever so dominant disappear in a small gold 96’ Saturn. I watched it carefully, not thinking that these few moments would be our last, but that they would be the last that we were in some way equal.
As the plane slowly descended to a lower altitude, I took off my seatbelt quickly, eager to see the extent of the view. I stood up excitedly to see the whole scenery. When it landed, I eagerly grabbed the items and went out of the plane. The smell of air was different here. It was cold mountain fresh air. Before all I’m familiar with is air pollution. That day, I knew it was a lot different here.

“Wake up. Our plane takes off at 6.” These were the first words I heard on December 14, 2007. As I remembered we were going to Florida, I hopped out of bed and threw on some clothes. I slept threw both plane rides and when I woke up we had landed in Florida. I unbuttoned my winter coat as I stared at the bright blue sky and felt the warmth of the sun through the plane window. Once out of the airplane, I took a deep breath in, and humid, thick air filled my lungs; I looked up at a palm tree and saw a bright green bird looking right back at me.
Just after this quick bend, the crew became visible helping people on. Just before I entered the transportation unit, I looked down at the gap left between the door and I. The metal around the entry door was rusted and worn, which gave me an eerie feeling. Reluctantly, I stepped aboard and felt uneasy as I saw those responsible for taking us to our destination. I would soon know for sure, how I felt about my now plausible career.

Hugh once again had vanished. It’s not unheard of that the top students to disappear for extended periods of time but this is usually only for a few days. Those that did disappear usually could afford to as they had high enough intelligence and a strong enough work ethic to afford themselves a few days absence. They knew well that dropping grades would result in severe reprimands and if it persisted then they would be painfully reminders of the importance of school. But Hugh despite his vastly superior intelligence than everyone else was distracted, lazy, and generally uninterested in school or learning.
Many people who live on Earth are close minded to what is really out there in the universe. They cannot even begin to fathom the vastness of it and how Earth is just a tiny little speck compared to everything else out there. From the planets to the stars and out towards the edge of the unknown, we can only see what science provides us with. From this, we know that we are nothing but a tiny planet located in a solar system of millions in a galaxy of many more in the universe.
Peacefully, you walked to the edge of the pier. The part of it that had less light so it was slightly dim with less people and the perfect view over the ocean and towards the sun. Arriving at the right moment, you sat down as the sun began to dip beneath the waves. The sun, like a golden orb, sat in an array of color ranging from red to yellow.
A protracted 6-hour plane ride and a 2-hour bus ride later, we had finally arrived at the place where our imaginations were the limit, and where the galaxy beyond our own is capable of knowledge our minds couldn’t even begin to comprehend. As we drove up to the village of tin cylinder shaped buildings, known as space camp in Huntsville Alabama, my expectation immediately dropped. But I still had many different thoughts of what the week ahead was going to be like. Would I have fun, or would I just dread the thought of it? But soon all my questions would be answered.
made a woosh noise as it closed. I took a deep breathe and started walking
We got into our lines, behind groups of excited families and happy little old men and women. As the line ascended up the ramp onto this enormous water vessel, pictures were taken of every group of passengers. Smile, laugh and look happy! Riiight. As a matter of fact, I was pretty anxious. I'd never been on a boat like this, and especially not for a whole week.
Since I was young, I have been enthralled by everything from Star Wars to Dune as I dove head first into the annals of science-fiction. Because of this early curiosity, I have long been one of the many who has pondered the possibility of life on
