Since Southern Light is a private company, information on the actual mining businesses who they receive their minerals from is kept secret away from the public. For the capital, since the business is expanding again, they would need a factory to build the fiber optic cables in, tools such as forklift, and such to design, build, and maintain fiber optic structures, vehicles for transportation of goods and to customers, and more. For labor, human resources are needed for building the fiber optic cables, transferring and installing them into their customer’s homes, businesses, and others. Southern Light has around 51 to 200 employees across the Gulf Coast and could be growing when the expansion begins. The entrepreneur of the production is the guy who brings all them together to make the business profitable. This guy is Eric Daniels, the Southern Light’s Chief Operating Officer. All four of the factors of production land, entrepreneur, labor and capital is the major contributors of Southern Light. Of particular importance is the deregulation of the telecommunications industry as mentioned in the act (“Implementation of the Telecommunications Act,” NTLA). This reflects a new thinking that service providers should not be limited by artificial and now antique regulatory categories but should be permitted to compete with each other in a robust marketplace that contains many diverse participants. Moreover the Act is evidence of governmental commitment to make sure that all citizens have access to advanced communication services at affordable prices through its “universal service” provisions even as competitive markets for the telecommunications industry expand. Prior to passage of this new Act, U.S. federal and state laws and a judicially established consent decree allowed some competition for certain services, most notably among long distance carriers. Universal service for basic telephony was a national objective, but one developed and shaped through federal and state regulations and case law (“Telecommunications Act of 1996,” Technology Law). The goal of universal service was referred to only in general terms in the Communications Act of 1934, the nation's basic telecommunications statute. The Telecommunications Act of 1996 among other things: (i) opens up competition by local telephone companies, long distance providers, and cable companies ...
Larry Watson, in “Montana 1948”, uses the motif of light and silence in many ways to develop, clarify and reinforce ideas about truth and injustice, and portray the nature of some characters. He illustrates the injustice in Bentrock through the motif of light and then demonstrates to the reader the occurrence of something wrong through the motif of silence. The motif of light also sometimes assists the motif of silence to emphasize the significance of the event.
In a competitive environment where market is changing instantly, organizations are in a fix to design a strategy that could market their products enticing the consumers to buy their products and services. Market is the arena for business gladiators who fight out for maximum share and profitability and this is possible only through effective marketing strategy. Competing in present economy means finding ways to break out of commodity status to meet customers’ needs better than competing firms (Ferrell and Hartline, 2010). The intensity of competition has increased after the introduction of media and internet where the companies present their product in the best way through advertisements, product reviews, blog entries, etc. With the advancement in technological innovations, companies have found various ways of providing services to the consumers in a cheaper and effective way and this has resulted in communication revolution in late 1990’s as the cellular technology was unfold in most of the regions. Singtel Optus Pty Limited (Optus) is one such company that has evolved during this period as a leader in integrated communications and this paper is assumed to make an analysis of the company’s marketing strategy and its financial position in the market industry.
Cisco faces intense competition in the networking and communications equipment markets (Cisco Systems Inc. SWOT Analysis, 2013).Cisco also faces price competition from rival competitors in Asia, mainly in China. The company also faces competition from customers to which it licenses or supplies technology. The nature of networking requires partnerships; the company must cooperate and at the same time compete with many companies to achieve its objectives. The inability to effectively manage these complicated relationships with customers, suppliers, and strategic alliance partners may have an adverse effect on Cisco’s business. Intense competition will continue to impact Cisco’s operating results, financial condition and market shares of the company in the future (Cisco Systems, Inc. SWOT Analysis, 2013).
The industry has loyal customers with broad customer base that lowers the collective bargaining power of buyers to medium. The switching cost is very low and thus the customers can turn to a service provider who provide faster and innovative service but this is overcome by customized services and integrating into their customer supply chain.

The Riverbend Telephone Company is experiencing growth and had previously tried outsourcing some of its installation work to handle the overflow above its capacity. This was unsatisfactory, and so to accommodate the new customers, RTC needs to obtain a new maintenance truck and crew. It is considering whether leasing or buying the new truck necessary to their operations is the preferable method of investment.
Along with the incredible opportunities the Internet has created, this global connectivity also has exposed businesses to an excess of regional issues that can dramatically alter a business' potential for profit or loss and also change the risks and threats to the business.
Regions are divided into branches and sales teams covering specific customer industries and sectors. Martha Pauley, a Branch Manager, manages multiple sales teams in the Northeast Region. Previously branches sold all products in a specific city/area; branches are now tasked with selling one product group over a much larger geographic area (Dynacorp Revisited, 2005: M-2, 86). The sales ...

The history of lighting is a very long story dating back before the discovery of fire to the casting of shadows on walls. Lighting like people has both a past, present, and future, that is where our story begins.
