“A Summer in Ohio” is sung by Anna Kendrick in the film The Last Five Years. Throughout this song Anna states things that she could be doing instead of spending her summer in Ohio. This song relates the subject of opportunity cost. The opportunity cost of an item is what must be given up to obtain that item. One example is when Anna sings, “I could wander Paris after dark, take a carriage ride through Central Park, but it wouldn't be as nice as a summer in Ohio where I'm sharing a room with a "former" stripper and her snake: Wayne.” It is obvious that one person cannot be in two places at once.
