In the beginning I was unsure of what I was getting myself into. I had no clue what sociology was, I had never taken a sociology class before. The way that my schedule had to work out was that I had to take 101 and 102 this semester. I could not believe that I had to take two of the same classes at once. I was scared but knew that I had to get through them so I could get on with graduating. Now that the class has ended, I wish that I would have taken more sociology classes. Taking this class online was so helpful to me in several different ways. We covered a lot more in this class than we attempted to cover in my 102 class. There have been concepts that we covered that clicked with me and I had no problem understanding. And then there have been those that challenged me that I could just not grasp. There were some, but I am happy to say that they were only a few. The concepts that I wanted to express my thoughts about are the sociological perspectives, the culture chapter, socialization, social structure and social interaction, the deviance section, the self-control part, nature vs. nature, Social class in the Us. ...to connect it with our topic. I think that this made me think even harder and more critical on how I can relate this topic to our topic. Those are the kind of assignments that truly help me with my thinking. It teaches me how to think outside of the box, and that if I want to do it, then I will find a way to do it.
I feel like there is nothing that I am leaving behind and will forget. I think that this class has been the best one yet that I have taken. I think that I will retain all of the information covered and it will all apply to my future. Whether it is at work, in class, or in my home life, I will remember what we learned and store it for future usage. I believe that if it was between which of my two classes I store more information, I would have to pick this class. It was a great experience and I am thankful for taking the risk and signing up for the class.
