There are four different social styles: Analytic, Driver, Expressive, and Amiable. Amiable social styles consist of people sensitive to the feeling of other people. These people feel the need to establish relationships with others and maintain the relationship in order to consider themselves successful. Additionally, amiable social style are people who easily trust in others. They want to relate to the problems of others and help others solve personal problems. One portion of this understanding is gaging what traits are associated with what personality types. In other words, defining the many types of personalities there are. The human mind is not so easily generalized but many psychologist agree to set broad categories on personality. This is evident in the types of personality tests commonly taken. Two of these tests are the Big Five and the MBTI, both of which I took.

Using the author’s field research I felt that many of them tried to enter their situation as an outsider looking in as most researchers do. Given time most of them were able to some what be accepted into their social surroundings. No matter what role or relationship the researchers developed along the way they still had to make choices to would affect their data in different ways. They just had to pick the correct approach and apply it. Finally all stories proclaimed different discussions of social science by using different forms of "objectivity" and "subjectivity."
The study of personality traits is beneficial in identifying the many variables that exist from human to human; the combinations of these variables provide us with a true level of individuality and uniqueness. In the field of psychology, trait theory is considered to be a key approach to the study of human personality (Crowne, 2007; Burton, Westen & Kowalski, 2009). This paper aims to identify a number of significant contributors who have played crucial roles in both the development and application of trait theory. This paper then moves focus to these theorists, outlining their theory and analysing both the strengths and weaknesses of those theories. An illustration of the methods used in trait measurement is given and includes the arguments both for and against such procedures. Lastly the findings of trait theory and its components described within the paper will be summarised.
