How social justice is presented in TKAM? Racism was the central issue that a number of people never inspected in the 1930’s.Black people were treated like they weren't humans. Back then white people had more freedom than the blacks. In the novel, an example of racism was when Tom Robinson was claimed guilty simply because he was black. Social Justice is displayed in the novel when Atticus decided that things were not right and took the action of defending Tom Robinson in court. Atticus has proven with evidence that Tom was innocent, it all came down to Tom being black and the Ewells being white which led to Tom's verdict of being guilty.

Systemic racism is a form of racism where racist behaviours will ruin a part of the society. By living in a racist society, people tend to make racist jokes or have racist ideas, even when to intended to an individual.

Eurocentrism: Eurocentrism is a worldview centered on Europeans. The difference between Eurocentrism and Ethnocentrism is that Ethnocentrism is Eurocentrism based on a group of people or an individual that is not European.

White lens: White lens is looking at things at a white person's point of view. Meaning they are superior to others. "You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view"?

Prejudice: Prejudice is harm or injury that results in judgement. In “To Kill A Mockingbird’’ Tom Robinson was named guilty for rape. Atticus prove that Tom was innocent, but Tom was named guilty simply because of his colour.

Racial Profiling: Racial targeting is targeting a person based on their race. Racial profiling is more common in the United States where the police target people such as Latinos,blacks,Arabs,Muslims,etc based on their history. …show more content…

Injustice is a lack of fairness or justice. A symbol of Justice in TKAM would be Atticus because he is the one defending Tom. A symbol of injustice in TKAM would be Bob Ewell because they are lying to the court because they know that they would beat a black man in court. “She was white, and she tempted a negro.
