Snow. Many people see it as an opportunity to have fun but other people like me, see it as an opportunity to make money. Specifically getting paid to plow snow. Every year i make a little money doing it along with others. People have the ability to make bank on snow if they know what to do with it, most people just choose not to do anything with it and i guess its there loss.
Unfortunately this year has been an awful year for snow. As most people are used to michigan getting a lot of snowfall. A few years ago we got something like 3-4 feet of snow. Now i'm not sure why we don't have any snow but i'm sure that there is a reason. What that reason is is unknown. Some people would say it has to do with global warming… that might be the reason but i'm pretty

sure that there is something more simple than that. Maybe this just isn't the year for snow.
It's not the first time that could be the reason. Now the lack of snow this year is really putting certain companies in a bad place because they can't keep their employees if they don't have work to keep them busy. Much less not having enough money to keep them employed. I've heard stories of people having to go back to making pizzas because they need a paycheck. I have had a problem like this. I used to make money in the winter time by plowing out my neighbors driveways and since there is no snow, I recently had to start fixings cars with my dad. That is not necessarily a bad thing but i still don't get paid as much as i used too. Now some people would be fine with just finding a new job but some people like myself don't really have the proper skills to do something else. I'm good at fixing cars to but say making food for people just isn't to my liking. Now many people are in the same boat that i'm in, and we can't really blame anyone for this. Really the only thing that we can do is blame mother nature. Michigan used to be a great place for snow but this year is starting to prove that wrong. A friend of mine works for a landscape company and he got laid off a while ago because the summer lawn work
was pretty much done for the season. Now he was supposed to go back to work when the snow started to fall and i don't think that he even went back to work because there wasn't enough work for him to do. Now to be quite honest, i don't have a problem with working on cars. I actually enjoy it to be honest. But other people like my friend, dont have the skills to do anything else. Mother nature must not like us this year. Other businesses that make money on snow are also struggling i'm sure. Though as of late we have got a little bit of snow and up to this point, it has stayed. Now how long it will stay is completely unknown but i hope it stays and we get a lot more of it.
States on the lee, or down wind, sides of the great lakes receive lake-effect snow every year. For some cities this can push the average snowfall up to 400 inches. During the February storm of this year records were broken for the most snowfall in one storm. For a duration of the storm snow was falling at a rate of six inches or more per hour. Some of the images captured from the event leave some in disbelief that such a thing could even happen. Storms of this magnitude completely shut down all activity. Many areas do not have equipment capable of handling such mass amounts of snow, and even if they do the task is overwhelming. (weather.com 2006)
INTRODUCTION The winter season can be a major hassle for some people while others just have to deal with a slight cool down in temperatures. Over the northern portions of the country, people are faced to deal with the harsh conditions that Mother Nature has in store. Some winter seasons are less brutal than others. Besides the typical storm systems that come through the area and drop different types of precipitation whether it is snow, sleet, or freezing rain, there’s another weather event that affects not everyone in the country, but primarily around the Great Lakes.

One of the most significant reasons is, in some places plans might interfere with snow make up days. The first reason is some people go away for the whole summer. For example, if they were to cancel their plans it would cause major inconveniences. Second, some people book their vacations months even years in advance. For example, for Disney Cruise Lines they require you to book a year in advance in order to reserve the perfect getaway. This would be a large obstacle if their children were in school. Third, this causes families to lose money. The people who have to cancel their plans will only get compensated the partial amount or nothing at all of what they paid. For example, if they booked a trip on Disney Cruise Lines they would only get compensated a partial amount that they paid and the deposit they paid they do not get back. Interfering with people’s plans is a significant consequence, and the length of summer vacation is too.

It’s fall everyone and Halloween is coming.I would like to tell you that fall is the best season of all.
I have been to a place that has lots of interesting snow and others. It is Lake Tahoe. It is a place that I will never get bored of that it has a lot of snow! Mostly you could do anything with snow. But most of all, beating your older brother up in a snowball fight. I really loved when each time I went down the big mountain. It was really amazing. I was also really happy of building snowmen and building snow forts that I never even knew I can build. It was amazing for all of what could be crafted with snow. The fantastic trip has come to the start!
My dad and I go hunting every weekend during deer season which is from mid of Novmber to the first of Janurary. We go sit at 6:00am and we leave at 8:00am,but why we sit we will be wacthing birds and squirrals playing in the place we have corn they will eat it like deer does.We half to sit still were the deer can’t see us in the deer stand. When we go hunting you have to climb up in the deer stand and then sit patiertly to wait for something to come out of the woods. We look three or four different way in the stand.”My dad stated,” theres a deer.We go hunting in Pearson Georgia. When we go hunting we have to be careful because the gun could go off.It could be dangous going hunting by yourself. But if anything happen I can help him.Because we
Money. I am a naysayer. It can change a person in a way. Anonymous once said, ”Money is the root of all evil.” Caring only for money is wrong.
It covers 70% of our planet, makes up 75% of our body, it is necessary for survival and it is declining at a rapid rate (http://www.sscwd.org). It is water. Unfortunately, clean water is rare, almost 1 billion people in developing countries do not have access to water everyday. “Yet, we take it for granted, we waste it, and we even pay too much to drink it from little plastic bottles” (The Water Project). Use of earth’s natural resources should be seen as prosperity, although it is taken for granted, every aspect of daily life revolves around the environment, forcing water conservation to be necessary for future on this planet. Many people grab a water bottle to go as they head to life as normal, others in developing countries spend their lives searching for water that is rarely found. Even if they do obtain water, it is seldom clean and usually comes with the risk of disease. As more developed countries pay a dollar or so for a bottle of water, others in less fortunate places worship water as if it is gold.
Snow is a concept that only a few people really know about. It seems like most people hate snow with a burning passion. However, the true northerners praise every day that it snows; mostly because it does not happen a lot. At one point everyone that participates in a snow sport has to hope that it will snow every winter. Unfortunately, our hopes and dreams do not always come true. That was why snowmaking was developed in the 1980s and has been upgraded every year so maximum snow production is possible. The first reason was to fill in the gaps that Mother Nature left out. However, now the amount of snow we receive is drastically less than what it used to be. Instead of making snow to fill in the gaps, we have to make most of the snow we ski

The year was 1992; a cold December arctic wind had brought a chance of snow to the area. It was the weekend and time to relax after a long hard week at work. The weather service had predicted several inches of snow to blanket the region by the next day. Not to worry: it was the weekend and traveling was not a necessity.
For my “How to do” speech my goal was to share with the class an interesting and informative way to learn something new. Due to the speeches time limit, I knew I needed to be well prepared. I wanted to be less nervous before and during my speech. While presenting I was nervous, but I didn’t really have time for these feelings to sink in because I was focused on the information I wanted to share with the audience. I enjoyed presenting in the second group of speeches so I could see my peers different types of speaking style. The audience seemed alert and interested in my topic which made it a little bit easier for me to speak, because there weren’t any distractions in the room from people not paying attention. I think part of that was because
