There have been many people who have had significant influences on my life: people old and young; close-friends and strangers. Almost every person I have come across has had some influence on me in some way or another. I am who I am today because of the relationships I share with the people around me. However, each of us has that ONE person who influences your life in a significant way.
They say the first man a girl loves is her father, but my affections were torn from the very beginning. I loved my Dad but there was a special place set aside for my grandfather – a space that to this day is still stuffed full of love and memories. As far back as I can remember Mr. Ewing was my #1 supporter in everything I did from spelling bees to teaching me to ride a bike. Mr. Ewing was not my grandfather by blood but nothing could have made our bond stronger.
Along with my parents, Mr. Ewing instilled in me a strong work ethic in which I still uphold today and is one of the main reasons I was the first person in my family to start and finish college at a university and now onto graduate school ...
The relationship between a father and a son can be expressed as perhaps the most critical relationship that a man endures in his lifetime. This is the relationship that influences a man and all other relationships that he constructs throughout his being. Marilynne Robinson’s Gilead explores the difficulty in making this connection across generations. Four men named John Ames are investigated in this story: three generations in one family and a namesake from a closely connected family. Most of these father-son relationships are distraught, filled with tension, misunderstanding, anger, and occasionally hostility. There often seems an impassable gulf between the men and, as seen throughout the pages of Gilead, it can be so intense that it creates
There have been many priest that I have known that have impacted me in certain ways. I think there is one that stands out from the others. Father Anthony Gerber is the priest at my parish St. Theodore. He arrived at our parish after our old priest retired. Father Gerber has only been with us for a short time, yet has still impacted me as a person and as a catholic.
Throughout my short life span I have been blessed with the opportunity to work for one of the most driven farming establishments in Kansas. The person leading the way? Brian Vulgamore. Brian has been in my life since I was a toddler. I personally believe without Brian in my life, I would not have the opportunity to attend college and pursue my dreams. A man of many attributes, he [Brian] has inspired me to seek the very best in life, and always strive for the greatest opportunities.
An influence that made an impact throughout our historical events, and in my culture was Cesar Chavez . He is was a civil rights activist and a labor leader who fought for improving the working conditions and fair amount of pay for farm workers. He would lead marches called boycotts, and also did hunger strikes . Before he did all this he himself , with his family worked in the fields as farm workers. Cesar Chavez hardened by his experience and dedicated his life to improving the treatment with nonviolence .
When it comes to choosing an individual who has positively influenced my life, a handful of ideal names come to mind from all primary aspects of my experiences. People like Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys, River Phoenix, James Dean, writer and renowned journalist Hunter S. Thompson, my brother Michael, and extraordinary musicians including Bob Dylan, Sam Cooke, and my personal goddess, Stevie Nicks. While all these people have changed and inspired me in specific ways, there's one person that impacts my daily decisions, thoughts, and actions more prominently than anyone else could. Since the day I was born, I've had the advantage of being exposed to the music that has changed the world, making musicians and their creations the main source of
There is at least one person in everyone's life that has influenced him or her remarkably. An individual is not required to be physically near you every day to make an impact upon your life. What does it mean to make an impact on someone's life? To me, making an impact means to imbue confidence in someone to drive him or her to do something. I believe that we were all created to spread and gain knowledge from each other to bring substance in our own individual lives. Eric Thomas, a phenomenal speaker, educator, author, activist, and minister has made an incredible impact in my life through his motivational speeches.
One influence on my life is people. Miss Haferman is a person who has had a very great influence on my life. She was my first grade teacher.
My next major influence was my first grade teacher. I remember most of that school year was spent on Martin Luther King Jr. That was the first time I had learned about racism, and what had happened in the past to blacks, amongst others. That school year had a great impact on me and it has changed me ever since to treat all people fairly, no matter what color, sex, intelligence level, social class, etc. This experience has taught me the meaning of democracy, and how to practice it.
The influences that have shaped my identity are my parents, who always taught me right from wrong. Who were always there for me even though I may have disappointed them at one or more times in my life. Although, I had to quit college after only attending one semester because I got pregnant my parents were still there to guide me and support my decisions.
Throughout our life, we encounter different kinds of people. Although most people around us are strangers who we do not know their names, sometimes they may make a deep impression on us due to their actions as well as attitude towards life. Some people are influenced by the family, friends, and teachers because they are someone who we spend a lot of time with. As for me, when I was ten, I met an ordinary worker who was quite strange to me, and she had a profound influence on my life.
Influence is one of the greatest effects people have on us that defines who we are as we grow and learn. Influence is aroused by people media and advertisements. The largest influence in my life has been my very own family. While not all of the effects of their influence were derived from good they shaped me into who I am today. They have instilled within me traits of financial responsibility, confidence, and the courage to fail.
Every piece of me has seemed to come from an inspirational woman who has somehow graced my life. Whether for a second or for a decade, they have made imprints on my soul. To limit myself to describe the one person who has given me the most inspiration would be virtually unfeasible. I am a collage of influence and choice made by those with whom I have interacted.
Everyone has that one person in their life has influenced to be who they are. Some weren’t meant to be looked up to, still somehow that person shaped them to be who they are today. It could be anyone, a friend, teacher, most of the time a parent. A parent that has influenced their child would be a hard parent, who disciplined and showed the real world to their kid, for what it really is. In hopes that their kid will survive the real world and pass on their knowledge to their kids and their children and so on.
The three most influential people are my sister mom and dad. My sister cause she would always stop me when I was making stupid decisions. One time I was going to stop playing sports just to go mess around with my gangster friends and she wouldn’t let me.
Influence is the ability to have a burden on someone or something. However, one doesn’t have to be a “individual of influence” to be influential. The lives of each person is most strongly influenced by the family and environment that we grew up in. The personality of our parent (s), whether we were born first or last, what the bonds are like between siblings, our teaching horizontal surface, the socioeconomic position of our home, the home we have settled, all of these concepts have formed us at the time period of our life when we’re in need of it most and shaped us to who we are now.
