I think that soldiers should be able to get their dogs when they leave the army. One reason is after soldiers leave the army they usually leave because of an injury, and without their dog they could get depressed and usually get more from being depressed, and their dog could help them with their problem. The second reason is the bond between the dogs and their handler is too strong. I understand why people think that dogs should stay in the army, but there will be more dogs. Those are my reasons why dog handlers should be able to keep their dogs.
The dogs in the army are trained to do whatever their handler says so if their handler get injured there dog could help them with him or hers problem. Soldiers could die from depression if they don’t
have their dog. Soldiers could go into a coma, and possibly die while in it. Some soldiers might stress eat. Things that might happen if their dog gets to help them. If they have been injured in the legs the dog could help them that way they don’t have to get up to get something. If they are blind their dog could guide the soldiers places. While in the army the dogs and their handlers get very close. They would miss each other too much to be without one another. They are always together day and night. They protect each other while in the army. That is why they get really close. I understand why people think the dogs should stay in the army. They need to protect other people. The dog might get distracted because the dog misses its original handler. The dog being distracted might cause the dog and many other people to be in serious danger. That’s why I think that dogs should get to stay with their original handler. The previous statements are the reasons I think the dogs should be able to be with their handler. The first reason was after soldiers leave the army they usually have an injury, and without their dog they can get depressed, and their dog could help them with their health problems. The second reason is the bond between the dogs and their handler is too strong. In conclusion I feel that the soldiers should get their dogs. I hope you feel the same way!
The dogs of war by Michael Paterniti is an informative and heartwarming article about handler Marine Corporal Jose Armenta and his dog Zenit. And how handlers and dogs are trained without each other and how they are trained with each other. The way that Micheal Paterniti writes is excellent and well written but it is even better with the pictures, the pictures tie everything together.
Pitbulls should be allowed as pets. They are a symbol of pride. According to the text it states in paragraph three “Pit bulls became a symbol of American pride, and their image was used on posters to recruit soldiers during World War One.” This practically means that the pit bulls are someone that was in the armed forces which is a dog serving for us and helping the soldiers.
Individuals with PTSD have a hard time coping with their symptoms as well as trusting others ;therefore, therapy dogs are beneficial to help developing coping skills by taking the dog out for a walk extra sizing releases endorphins. Secondly, some people struggle with disabilities or severe mental illnesses and need a service dog because adults may draw attention away or even not focus on the problem at hand.
It can be a companion, an aide, or both. Pet dogs are loyal and make wonderful company, and an emotional support dog creates bountiful joy, but a service dog is much more. A service dog not only serves the same role as a pet, but creates a safer environment for its owner. Without the service dog it would be much harder for the owner to get around on a daily basis indecently. However service dogs and their owners are discriminated against because people are skeptical of the dog’s legitimacy, but instead the service dogs and their owners should be respected and treated as
Dogs have impacted the lives of 44% of American families and homes. People use dogs for much more than just a family friend. Dogs are used for special needs, assisting police, and hunting and tracking. Dogs should be appreciated and never taught to fight or be neglected. Dog fighting is unethical because man’s best friend shouldn’t have to fight for their lives.
Most people are familiar with service dogs and have seen them in action. Animal-assisted therapy is similar service animals in that an animal-human healing partnership is being created. However, the difference is that therapy pets are typically used to treat a mental disability whereas people with physical disabilities use service dogs to help them in many ways. Therapy animals are used in a wide variety of places, such as, hospitals, prisons, nursing homes, therapy sessions, mental healthcare facilities, and even in people’s homes. These amazing animals are used on a wide variety of different disorders, but they are utilized mostly by people suffering from depression, anxiety, and PTSD. For people with these mental health disorders, everything in live can be difficult and challenging, however with the help of animal-assisted therapy, their mood, motivation, and life can dramatically improve. Anyone who hears about these brave, loving animals soon falls in love with them. From a medical standpoint, there have been many successful studies and the support for animal-assisted therapy still continues to grow in doctors and therapists across the nation.
Having a dog can be a great experience for people who enjoy their company. These animals are usually friendly and active; they are intelligent and can develop a strong relationship with their owners based on love and care. However, having dogs is a big responsibility for the person who owns them, because they are animals, so they cannot support themselves. Dogs need someone who can feed them, give them love, and someone who can help them exercise. Moreover, these animals need big spaces in order to run and develop their muscles, so the owner has to know that he needs to take a walk with the dog several times a day.
...dog assisted intervention is yet unknown. Other differential effects of human interaction with dogs and their clinical study situations have not yet expanded the reach of potential research. There is a need for better-designed experiment settings and reliability equation need to be documented for determination of the expanse of patient benefit (Johnson et. al., 2002).
Animal-assisted therapy is often confused with service dog; it is two completely different type of usage of animals, which usually are dogs. It is commonly misunderstood because animal-assisted therapy and service dog are working animals with individuals with disability although according to (Hart-Cohen, 2009) service dogs is when an individual with disability is in need of help in order to function in daily life such as answering the door, crossing the street and the list goes on. While animal-assisted therapy animals are trained to offer comfort companionship, and affection to those in need in different situations such as courtrooms, nursing homes, schools, hospitals, and other places (Hart-Cohen, 2009). The point of animal-assisted therapy is to be available in specific situations to offer comfort to individuals. In order to become an assisted animal, the animal must undergo training, to receive a certified to prove that the animal is qualified to be able to control his or her behavior and is able to work with an...
I believe that allowing dogs to be taken to the workplace by their owners could be a very good way to boost productivity. The owners would be less stressed because they wouldn't have to worry about their dogs at home. Also, they could want to stay later and get more work done; because, they don't have to go home to walk the dog.
Dogs are friendly and protective animals that are obediant to thier owners. Dogs love attention and being pampered by thier owners. Dogs must be fed and taken outside to urinate or to poop. So, this why bringing an pet of any sort to work is most certainly a no for me.
With all sides of the argument considered I believe that dogs should not be allowed in the workplace. Dogs are unsanitary and many people are afraid of them. They may cause distractions and ultimately do more harm than good. Furthermore, when the dogs were at work with their owners, they would likely have no place to be kept and if they did it would likely be unsanitary. When their owner went to the restroom, to get food, or talk to a coworker, the dogs would be tied up, left alone, or taken with, all options of which do not sound very appealing.
Since the commencement of warfare, humans have been using dogs to wage battle. Dogs have been employed in direct combat, for security purposes, for carrying equipment and for unit esprit de corps as the mascot. Today many feel that modern Military Working Dogs are more than equipment; they are Soldiers.
Dogs are wonderful creatures. They are loyal, dependable companions if given the opportunity. In recent years I have come to the opinion that we could learn something from these animals. We should also take a look at the manner in which they are being treated. Abandonment, irresponsible breeding, and neglect are only some of the ways that humans are failing the canine species.
