Although we international students have brought a lot of benefits to our colleges, there are certain bad things that happen to us in return. International students are only allowed to work only when they have obtained their OPT, become a citizen or if the work is assigned by the school as part of the curriculum or major they are interested in. I know this is much offering from the government, but I think as students we deserve more, slightly like American students am not saying same but slightly after all they are citizens and we are not, but at least we should be allowed to work off campus and gained more financial help and more knowledge about what we going to face out there. For example, in other countries students are allowed to work outside
campus with some restrictions to the job they doing, citizens may argue it going to cause low jobs and they won’t be enough jobs for them. If anyone needs a job he can always find one, after all this is United States and it full of all kinds of jobs. Thus, why not move it earlier so it helps the international students to be more adaptive to the real work environment. Most international student here in HCC live by themselves and some also try to make a living even though money is sent to them, but things are different when you live by yourself as a student and not working. The best solution is allowing international student to gain some more few rights, like working off campus.
College graduates are already experiencing difficulty finding well-paying jobs and careers today. Free tuition does nothing to help grow the job market but just adds competition through degree inflation. This could cause degrees to be less meaningful and a rise in unemployment with college graduates aiming for better jobs. While we can acknowledge that these programs may be utilized in other countries with some success, many of these cultures have static labor markets, strict entrance requirements for their universities, and have other cultural limitations that prevent pursuit of degree by average or slightly above average students. A student who has only been academically focused without work experience, may not be the best candidate for a job as someone with less education and more experience. In fact, Germany, a country that offers free college based on merit, actually graduates fewer college
Canadian students will maybe have to look at options to go to school abroad or somewhere else" (occording to CBC News, 2014). Government wants to accept more international student due to high amount of fees that international students pay: "International students, meanwhile, can pay three times that amount — or an average of $19,500 every year" (CBC News). Furthermore, government is also giving out perminet residency to internationals students who finishes unverscity " In addition to recruiting more, the government wants to prevent "brain drain" by making it easier for international students to obtain
Every year, more and more International students are coming to the U.S. for pursuing higher education. According to the Open Doors report published annually by the Institute of International Education (IIE), the number of intern...
It is the American dream to get out of high school and to start working towards your degree, right? Perusing a degree in the United States is not as dream like for some students. Many factors such as the learning environment, where you come from, and the knowledge and will power can shape how the higher education experience can go. While not all of these factors necessarily point to a rough or tough college experience, but also show that we as a nation could help our students be more educated and prepared to pursue and finish a degree. All students should be given equal opportunity and tools to become a successful member of society.
This topic is addressed in many different ways all around the world, as individual countries vary on the political spectrum from one another. For example, many of the Scandinavian countries provide post secondary education at little to no cost; in North America, we see significant variances in the cost of university between Canada and the US, with the States implementing much higher costs than here. There are pros and cons to be considered for both extremes. On one hand, students in countries that provide education are likely to be less stressed about the costs associated with school, but taxation rates in those countries are typically much higher. On the other hand, students that are required to pay for their own education are more likely to apply themselves and do well in their studies, though the extreme costs make it unavailable to many people. In Canada, specifically Alberta, as mentioned in previous lectures, university students pay around 25% of the operating costs of their postsecondary institution. When all is said and done, this still accumulates to a substantial amount of money that puts most of us into debt for many years. However, I think that this requirement holds great value as an incentive to do well in school and become a well educated citizen. I also think that with the remainder of the funds coming largely from government taxation, it exemplifies not only the value that governments and societies place on education, but also the support that post secondary students can know they are receiving. University is an investment into the future, and everyone is an investor in a democratic socialist country like Canada. Since post secondary education is not mandatory, I think it is only fair to ask that students contribute to the cost of their own future, as well as the future of their
The American Education system needs to check their purpose and refocus students back on the reason for furthering their education. Although, many colleges are known for many amenities and student activities, college students need to focus on the issues at hand and conquer them with knowledge and compassion for humankind. Americans need to realize that student debt is a national crisis, and the best way to make a change is be involved and responsible for every cost during your education career. As a responsible student, know where your tuition money goes and question changes that are going on at school, students pay for the experience they should know what is
International students should be granted the right to work while studying in the United States because they need to develop skills they are learning in school through practice such as communication skill, be able to cater for their living expenses, gain experience of the fields they are preparing to work in and make contribution in the country’s growth for good recommendation. International students should be allowed to work while studying but, in line with the courses they pursuing and under regulated conditions to ensure quality is gained and delivered.
International students are significantly increasing in Australia. Obviously, the main purpose of them comes to Australia is to gain a better education atmosphere. Lately, the working issues are rising among international students, especially twenty hours working per week during the semester, some of them argue, is not appropriate. Therefore, a change should be made to these regulations. However, this essay will argue that, based on the main purpose of international students come to Australia, twenty hours working, weekly, is highly efficient time to work while they are studying. This is reasonable regarding to both students succeed at study and their health during the study.
Other solution is that in public universities the student parliaments should be established which will use the method of classic labor unions; these parliaments can be rivals to university administrations to protect students’ rights.
When in the course of life events it is necessary to leave school at a certain point. To get your freedom and be free from that place that you go to for 7 hours. The students get bored of being there without being able to outside of the campus.
The bell rings… Hundreds of kids rush to lunch to try and get their food as quick as they can. Many students rush to lunch because they want and need to eat but there is some things that frustrate students. If juniors and seniors had off campus lunch, it might relieve the overcrowding and the shortage of food. Students should have off campus lunch because their will be better quality of food other than the cafeterias, also the quantity of the food, and the logistics of the cafeteria. The quality of the food is very poor. It tastes fake. The amount of food the students get on their tray, without buying extra, is the amount that would be fed to a five year old. Not everyone can eat in the limited amount of time allowed to eat and there is not enough space for everyone to sit, and the cafeteria is really loud with the amount of students required to be in there at one time. These are some of the reasons that an off campus lunch could be beneficial to students.
I believe it is harder for people with lower socioeconomic status to achieve upward mobility, because people of a lower status most likely won’t get a degree or certification. For the fact they may have to work to support their families instead of attending college. It’s not that most people don’t want it; they lack the income that is needed to attend college. Unfortunately for the jobs today you need a college education and the skills to compete in the workforce today. Unlike people from higher socioeconomic status who has the support of their families, the income and necessities to attend a college in order to compete in the workforce today.
Having an education in a different country is a good idea. Education is the important thing in this time. When students come back to their country with a better education and experiences, their chances of getting a good job are more likely than others’. Now, countries send students to other countries to get a better education than they already have. When they come back, they can e...
Studying abroad can be one of the most rewarding experiences in a college’s students career. For many colleges, having their students can mean an increase in tuition, higher application rates, and overall better reviews by their students. According to the Indianapolis Business Journal, by Scott Olsen, “The Wall Street Journal reported last month that several small colleges are requiring students to pay full tuition even if the programs cost less, setting caps on the amount of financial aid sent abroad, and limiting how many students can participate”(5). Also, Olsen tells us “In the 2003-2004 school year, 7,208 students from Indiana universities went on study-abroad programs, according to the most recent statistics available from the Institute
International student who study in the US will have a lot of chance to have the best job with the degree that they have in University or College. Should international students work while they are studying in the US? I think the government should let international students work off -campus to support themselves. International students should work while they are studying in the US because job is not only help students have money to pay for tuition or living expenses, but also improve the speaking skill and give them invaluable social experiences which are really needed in the future.
