High School students are leaving without essential business skill and other knowledge that is needed to get and be prepared for college, their career, and to function as informed, intelligent, and productive customers and citizens. Sound education content and instruction are being compromised in a few schools when it is instructed by business courses or topics are assigned to the teachers who do not possess adequate business knowledge, a business education degree, or assigned or other curriculum areas. Students should be required to take an essential business skills class because it would help them in not just the business world but in real life also. Usually, it is not common for people to just build up their degree in Business Education but they get their degree in Business and also in Primary Education which would be used for middle school or Secondary Education which is the last four years of high school. The most common degree that people usually get is the Primary Education degree so they can teach high school for the more advanced classes. So when they start to choose what they want to do they must need to make the choice between if they want to teach high school or middle school. Making that choice will not be as tough as you think because it indubitably depends if you are better with middle or high schoolers. After you make that decision you will actually be in college. When going through college and getting their bachelor’s degree in either Business Education or a Business major and an Education major they will also have to go through a teacher preparation program. Also, they will have to complete a student teaching internship program in a business classroom if they did not already do that in college. Once they have done that, they will have to take a state-required test for business educators. If they are going to teach anything that has to do with a business that test is required and they must pass it. Then, if they pass that test they can apply for their teaching licenses, they also must pass the test but every state varies. Prospective teacher should prepare to take the Praxis Subject Assessment. This exam measures the academic skills in reading, writing, and mathematics of the teacher, designed to prepare extensive assessments that measure the knowledge and skills of the applicant entering for the teacher preparation programs.
