Should Government Pass Laws Restricting Children’s Access to Violent Video Games? Violent video games are a passion for young and young adults throughout the years. It has a huge impact in their lives due to the content that such video games show. We know that what is learned in childhood is what we project when we are adults and the same with violent video games happens. The government should pass laws restricting children’s access to violent video games because children become aggressive, addicts and urged to act. Video games have existed since 1950, and throughout the years have become popular among children. Scientific studies tell that it is beneficial for children when they play video games because it increases critical thinking skills and problem solving. Although there are other factors that can lead a child to act aggressive like being bullied in school of their own house, playing violent video games also makes impact in them. Although, this kind of addiction seems insignificant watching video games has a huge impact in children’s social and mental development. For example; the Sandy Hook School gunman Adam Lanza, 20, was reportedly “obsessed” with military shooters game “Call of Duty” that lead him to kill children, school staff and his own mother (Pow). In this case, being an addict to play violent video games leads the children to get more engaged in the content at some point that they may be able to get out from it
