All schools have dress codes and some are more strict than others. Like ours we aren't allowed to wear hats in school because " they are distracting" at least that is what they said. To me they aren't here is why they aren't. Why should beanies be allowed well there are plenty of reasons why just wait and see. One of the reason we should have hat. Is when we have had day there is no problem with it. What would be the difference of it being everyday instead of one specific day. Like kids go through the whole day and I doesn't cause a distraction for the class. Plus if it does just take his away for the day. Like you guys do with the phones just a hat. Plus it helps some kids to stay on track cause they won't be distracted by fixing there hair every second of the class. So kids with bad hair days can hide it. …show more content…
I see plenty of girls have there hair back with bandana and they don't get yelled at but if a guy has a beanie to hide there bad hair day it is not allowed. So I don't understand what they are thinking they get in the way they just sit on the top of your head most guys don't realize they have it one hence why they forget to take it off if they don't know it is on. My last reason why school should allow beanies is it is clothing. It literally just stays in one spot the whole time. It not a living organisms doesn't move and it is not gang related or we aren't hiding drugs under it. The beanie it helps us more than it gets in the way cause with it one it keeps our hair in one place so we won't have to fix it ever second it falls out of place. There are bigger problems in the school other than a hat on a persons head. I know the administration have strict rules against hats. I know they have a possibility of causing a distraction but to fix that you do the cell phone thing but with
Hoodies, the most comfortable thing Cornerstone has ever come up with for clothes. This year, the school administration decided to ban them, so they are no longer allowed at school. Last year, most people wore hoodies. This year, students are allowed to wear either V neck sweaters or crew neck sweatshirts instead. Why is this such a big deal? Well let me explain, every day most of the school would wear jackets and hoodies, but almost never sweaters. Cornerstone must bring back the hoodie.
First, allowing students to carry backpacks throughout the school day would save everyone time. Since backpacks have multiple compartments, they allow students to carry learning materials like textbooks, calculators, binders, and writing utensils. Students can use backpacks to transport laptops inside dedicated sleeves. As a result, students would waste less time at their lockers searching through debris for assignments and missing homework. Teachers, too, will welcome backpacks when they no longer have to squander valuable minutes writing locker passes. Less locker stops will reduce hallway congestion, expediting travel between classes. Without wasting the teacher’s precious minutes, students can get a drink of water, go to the bathroom, or take care of personal hygiene needs. . Even custodians will appreciate the practicality of backpacks when they are no longer interrupted from their busy jobs to unjam a muddled locker because of cumbersome coats and binders.
In one source it explains,”Ruling that wearing armbands could disrupt learning” (Ross 40). There is no way that wearing an armband could disrupt anyone. By wearing armbands it limits the amount of the bad things that could’ve happened if they would’ve had posters and signs. If this was done somewhere other than on school grounds it would’ve been all good. One source says,”They began by saying that students don’t shed their constitutional rights at the schoolhousegate” (Ross 41). The administration took it to serious because it really isn’t that big of a deal if they are wearing armbands to the school. Now since those few people wore those armbands the school decided to ruin it for everyone and ban the armbands all
Students should be allowed to wear what they want to school and if bullying occurs then the bully should be punished. Bullying is something that is not going to stop no matter what schools do to try and prevent it. The only way to lower the amount of bullying in schools is to teach children about the consequences of their actions at an early
What Mark Mathabane talks about in his article “Appearances Are Destructive” is how students should be required to wear uniforms in public schools because uniforms encourage students to focus on education. Mathabane draws from his experience from when his sisters from South Africa went to school in the United States. One of the points he makes is how the U.S. is the only country who allow an open dress code in schools. He also talks about how students are more concerned with how they look rather than their education. Mathabane also states how “in schools Nike, Calvin Klein, Adidas, Reebok and Gucci are more familiar names to students than Zora Neale Hurston, Shakespeare, and Faulkner”. Furthermore, he states that if students do not dress in designer clothes they may be ridiculed by others. The author's final opinion is that “It's time Americans realized that the benefits of safe and effective schools far outweigh any perceived curtailment of freedom of expression brought on by dress codes.”
Fidget spinners are the latest craze in schools across America. Purposed for ADHD and anxiety, the spinners have turned into fun gadgets, being sold out at many 7-Elevens and other retailers. They are not being used for their marketed reasons and are no longer a learning tool but a toy. Fidget spinners should not be allowed in school because they are distracting, used for the wrong purposes, and have caused harm to many children and adults.
In America, you have the right to free expression which is why it's known as the home of the free. But how far does that freedom go? Many students get in lots of trouble because they are freely expressing themselves through their clothes. Someone should not be censored because of their beliefs. The first step in human equality is people not being frowned upon in an oppressive way because of their beliefs. Students should be able to wear controversial clothing to school because they have the right to free expression, the school can’t stop you from wearing something just because they disapprove of the message, and that the schools cannot ban you from wearing something unless it causes a substantial disruption.
Since then, David Brunsma has found that about one in eight public middle schools and high schools in the United States have policies about what students are supposed to wear to school (Motsinger 1). For example, certain schools have a strict dress code that mandates clothing by style and color, while other schools have a more lenient dress code that just bans outrageous or distracting apparel from the workplace.... ... middle of paper ... ... Once we implement a strict dress code such as this, our school behavior will begin to escalate through the roof due to the amount of pointless distractions that will be eliminated.
Two of my other teachers also prohibited me to wear my hat; the only logical thought process I heard was that other students would see my hat, and they would also want to wear hats. However, I do not see a problem with everyone wearing a hat. Only one of my teachers allowed me to wear the hat in class, and I observed that, after a few initial laughs, class went completely normal. My teacher agreed.
“They shouldn't because they should be able to express themselves and choose what to wear. Also, they should be able to wear what they want and be free to wear what they want. They should also be able to share their personalities with their classmates and family members. ” (should kids). Some students can’t express themselves with art or music so, there way is through clothing like: buttons, band t-shirts, etc. In private schools it would be easier to enforce since there parents are paying extra for a better education. Public schools on the other hand would be a lot harder to enforce especially because some students don’t like school. Which if uniforms were enforced would make students hate school even more.
Another “distracting” clothing that we wear that adults think is “too distracting” for us to wear to school is hats. It’s the same with sweatpants how is something that we wear and see on a daily basis distracting? It’s not like wearing a hat shows off anything inappropriate.
Various components can be considered when describing a great backpack. However, the ideal backpack must be suitable in supporting different groups of people such as, students, travelers, and professionals. Allow me to further describe qualities that make-up a great backpack. An outstanding backpack for students is capable of protecting all their belongings regardless of its weight or the outside weather.

Anyone can sneak into YOUR school wearing a uniform pretending they are a student, and possibly be selling illegal items. Say two people look alike, wearing the same uniform. One of them has committed a serious crime. They both walk by the camera at the same time. You can’t tell them apart. So safety? Same thing as theft. They say this is a free country, when they do this and make students wear uniforms, this curtails their freedoms. The school board is giving off one simple message by doing this...
I would say the tank tops are inappropriate but the school has already banished that clothing. And to say more, there is also more clothes that I disagree with being already banished. Such as a certain hat in the headgear department, I understand others such as hats and headphones, but this item I disagree with being on the list. The Toboggan. Everyone knows that the schools get cold.
