Fidget spinners are the latest craze in schools across America. Purposed for ADHD and anxiety, the spinners have turned into fun gadgets, being sold out at many 7-Elevens and other retailers. They are not being used for their marketed reasons and are no longer a learning tool but a toy. Fidget spinners should not be allowed in school because they are distracting, used for the wrong purposes, and have caused harm to many children and adults. The spinners have caused many distractions in a countless number of schools across the country. Teachers want them banned because their students play with the toy instead of paying attention in their classes. Students have even attached pencils to the bearings making it a hazard. Fidget spinners are supplying students with entertainment, rather than help with anxiety . Sadly, many have taken advantage of their cause, leading to using them for the wrong purposes. Fidget spinners were created in the 90’s for anxiety and ADHD help. They have evolved into spinners with lights, bluetooth, and more. With an increase of students bringing spinners with the complex styles to school is causing more distraction than ever. One child needed to have surgery to remove one the three bearings from her throat after she choked on the small metal piece in her car trying to clean it with her mouth. Imagine you are sitting in your classroom doing the work that the teacher assigned, and all of the sudden there is noise coming from behind you. While you are listening to this buzzing noise, you get very distracted by this noise, and cannot do your work. You turn around and see that the noise is coming from a girl who is playing with a fidget spinner. Fidget Spinners should not be allowed in the classroom because they are distracting, dangerous, and misused.
Playing with fidget spinners is fun until they become a distraction. Schools are starting to ban fidget spinners because kids don't pay attention to class and worry about playing, and staring at the fidget spinner. Many kids bought fidget spinners to play with them in school thinking it will help them focus in school. When they first get them they play with them they see how long they can spin them, as fast as they can. They bring them to school thinking they will just use them to spin, but in the end watch them as they spin.
All schools have dress codes and some are more strict than others. Like ours we aren't allowed to wear hats in school because " they are distracting" at least that is what they said. To me they aren't here is why they aren't. Why should beanies be allowed well there are plenty of reasons why just wait and see. One of the reason we should have hat.

Have you ever heard of the gruesome Columbine High School massacre? This incident occurred on April 20th 1999 and involved two students embarking on a shooting rampage, killing twelve students, a teacher and wounding twenty three others. Unfortunately during this incident, the school's most easily accessible phone was on the other side of the school in the library. Perhaps some of these lives could have been saved if the students in this class had cell phones that they could've used to contact the authorities more quickly. The issue we are addressing today is the use of cellular devices in educational facilities. I believe that cell phone use is of extreme convenience, and has academically beneficial aspects, among it's so called "faults".

There are multiple examples of students using their cell phones during class time to communicate their thoughts, images of their environment or dangerous crimes. In addition, the percentage of students with cellphones now soars to about 80% (Ban). This highly increases the chance for students to have a cell phones on them during school. Cell phones can also be harmful to students during class, taking them into another world of technology, separated from the classroom, and turning them down a road of decisions they never intended on doing. Overall, cell phones alter classroom learning in a negative way, and should be banned from use in the classroom at all schools.

Technologies like computers or iPads (or anything with internet access for that matter) in the classroom could possibly distract students from their work.
