Braden R. Morgan English 11, 8th block Mr. Johnson 3 May 2018 Sports Enhancing Drugs Professional and college sports are growing and getting more competitive as the year are going by, but a big issue in todays sports is the use of sports enhancing drug. Coaches and athletes wonder if they should do them and when should they do them, but most sport enhancing drugs like Steroids, GHG and others are illegal but athletes still get sport enhancing drug just in other ways. Sports enhancing drug will make sports and athletes better and will help with braking their plateau. I believe Top level athletes should be allowed to take sports enhance drugs because of athlete’s potential, competitiveness, and salaries. First reason Top level athletes …show more content…
Athletes should take sports enhancing drugs or supplements because it makes brakes what is known as your plateau or wall, which is where your body just can’t go any further with out help. For example say you have had a max bench of 300 for the past year and you just cant brake it, so then you take some type of enhancing supplement then you will brake that wall of 300. Sports in enhancing supplements can only get you so much better but they even have a stopping place or wall. After awhile your body just can’t get any better, but sports enhancing supplements will get you to your top shape. On the other side of that though the people that are against sports enhancing supplement will tell you yes they will help you become a better athlete, but the harm they will do to your body is not worth it. Enhancing supplement can do harm to your body but not if you take them the right way. If you cycle on and off and take the right stuff along with the correct amount your body will be fine, and will recover when you are off your cycle. The biggest medical issue with sports enhancers comes from oral taken supplements such as D-Bol and prohormones because …show more content…
Also If all athletes are at their best then it will be a battle just to be at a starting position and will make the coaches have harder decisions on who they want on the team. Their are a lot of great athletes out their and some of them just don’t make the cut to be at the professional level, but sports enhancers could be that factor that’s makes them a professional athlete. Sport would have a great amount of growth because there would be so many great athletes. If all athletes are at there very best there will be a lot of great teams and it will be really hard to know who is going to win each year. Some people believe that making sports more competitive is not smart because more injury’s will happen and the sports will become boring because every one is so good. They think more injury’s will happen because people will get so much stronger for example in football people will hit harder which will make it more dangerous but you will also be stronger and be able to take big hits. In to days world sports are getting softer, athletes are more worried about getting hurt then just competing which is a big cause of why a lot of
Even though impact sports can toughen kids up and can give kids a lot of talent and impact sports can cause kids or young adult lifelong injuries, if keeping impact sports you could be putting a lot of kids or young adults at risk of traumatic life long injuries but not keeping it, you could have non people talented and not making money and not having some of america's sports today
Performance enhancing drugs affect so many people that don’t even realize it. Fans of the game, coaches, university leaders and of course athletes are the major groups of people that can be affected the most from the usage of performance enhancing drugs. Numerous studies have stated that an athletes drug use in sport could be credited to a complex interaction of personal and environmental factors (Judge). Athletes hold themselves to high standards for themselves or maybe even family members they must provide for. Athlete will do whatever it takes to strive in their sport because in most cases personal success can lead to better opportunities such as the National Football League or maybe even the National Basketball Association. Overall, individuals can be affected in a positive manner through the use of performance enhancing drugs. Furthermore, the use of performance enhancing can do nothing but help athletes. Also, some college athletes need performance enhancing drugs more than others. Not every athlete comes from a well provided family and knowing that can plaque athletes to where they’ll do whatever it takes to be successful. With this in mind it would totally be unfair if only one or a couple of athlete used enhancing drugs however if every athlete were granted the right to use performance enhancing drugs there
Several track and field athletes all over the world have been known to use enhancement drugs over the years without testing positive, however, in recent times, more and more athletes are being tested positive for enhancement drug use due to the improvements of medical technology. In the book The dirtiest race in history: Ben Johnson, Carl Lewis and the 1988 Olympic 100 final, Richard Moore stated that all of the top five athletes in the 100 meter final were using enhancement drugs, but only one athlete was stripped of his medal. This brings us to the question; do enhancement drugs help an athlete? Enhancement drugs cause negative effect physically, emotionally and socially, hence the percentages of doping victims are still increasing.
There is a difference between working very hard to see progress and finding an alternative way to see ultimate progress. Most athletes love to work out to get bigger and better at their certain sport, there training for but you also have athletes who would go beyond extra to see improvements while still lifting or training and that extra way is called steroids. It 's a common drug that has its pros for athletes use to improve athletic ability, improves muscular strength and performance. Now, steroids have its cons as well, you could get arrested for using them illegally, can damage organs and veins and also damage your growth. You see, it 's not what athletics aspect, but it has happened even its good or bad. You highly hear that pro sport
?The harder and more intense youth sports get the more kids put in danger, more kids becoming bullied and more kids feeling like they have been just mentally or physically drained. What's going to happen in the future if we raise this generation the way we have begun too? Young athletes are being pushed past limits and put in danger by how intense youth sports have become.
I personally think Performance Enhancing Drugs should not be allowed in sports for many unsafe and unfair reasons. PED’s are currently illegal and cannot be used. Many people agree with this rule and some
Abstract: Since the beginning of sports competition, athletes have always looked for some kind of an edge over their competitors. They will do whatever it takes to be one of the elite and that includes injecting supplements into their bodies to make them bigger, stronger, and faster. Steroid use is probably one of the most common drug misuses in sports competition. Athletes found that with anabolic steroids one could become a better athlete twice as fast. Not until 1975 was the drug first banned from Olympic competition because of the health risks it produced. Shortly thereafter, the rest of the sports world did not allow anabolic steroids as well. With the use of steroids no longer permitted athletes began to look for other alternatives. On the rise is two substances called creatine and androstenedione, both of which are sold over the counter. These two performance enhancers have only had minimal testing done on them, excluding the long-term effects, simply because they haven't been around long enough. Creatine and androstenedione have been said to produce results like steroids without the side effects. The truth is they do produce side effects and irregular muscle growth. By banning the use of performance enhancing drugs, just like steroids, sports competition will have a much healthier and fairer environment to participate in.
When people think of sports, people might wonder if the greatest people in sports used performance-enhancing drugs.
Athletes put their lives in danger by using performance enhancement drugs. They use these drugs to gain physical advantages for their sporting events. These methods have been around for thousands of years. According to research, “In ancient Greece, Olympic athletes would ingest huge portions of meat that contained testosterone and creatine before they competed. They would also consume large quantities of alcoholic beverages and lamb testicles” (“Steroids”). Today, sportspersons have a drug policy due to health hazards, violence and incapability’s of normal performances. From lamb chops to steroids, many athletes are willing to destroy their bodies to become “popular” legends.
Should performance enhancing drugs be accepted in sports ? No, in my opinion, I think that is an easy way out of hard work and a way of cheating. Athletes use different kinds of drugs to improve their competitiveness and performances. Blood doping, stimulants, human growth hormone (HGH), and most commonly steroids are drugs used in sports. Many people that have the body that they have today worked hard every day for hours in exercising to get fit and to have the body that they always have wanted. Meanwhile, in the other hand, other people decide to go on the easy way out and insert drugs in themselves to build up faster and increase their ability in sports. I strongly disagree with the use of drugs in sports because, it's unhealthy, a way of cheating, and addictive.
Con: Remember that athletes don't take these drugs to level the playing field, they do it to get an advantage. And if everyone else is doing what they're doing, then instead of taking 10 grams or 10 cc's or whatever it is, they'll take 20 or 30 or 40, and a vicious circle simply gets bigger. The end game will be an activity that is increasingly violent, extreme, and meaningless, practiced by a class of chemical and or genetic mutant gladiators. The use of performance-enhancing drugs is not accidental; it is planned and deliberate with the sole objective of getting an unfair advantage.
Many wonder how drugs can influence an athlete's performance in sports. Over the past few years, it has become more known and more common for athletes to use drugs to enhance their performance abilities. It has been becoming more common for athletes to overdose on drugs whether it being intentional or accidental. Many athletes who use performance enhancing drugs do not know the consequences or the damage the drugs can do to their body. Most athletes that use performance enhancing drugs are high school students. They believe that because their favorite professional athletes is using the enhancers that they are able to also. Athletes should be drug tested before every game to help reduce the use of drugs.
Every athlete dreams of becoming the best player in their sport. For most athletes, this dream was created in their childhood watching their favorite player perform at great levels to achieve success. Most athletes will stop at anything to achieve success, even if that means breaking the rules. An athlete whether the biggest, fastest, or strongest, will always look for something that will give them and extra edge over everybody else, even if that means performance enhancing drugs. With new records being broken day by day, I believe performance-enhancing drugs should be legal in all professional sports.
Many Athletes are willing to do whatever it takes to become a professional. One of the easiest ways to enhance natural ability is through performance-enhancing drugs or, PEDs. PEDs are substances used by athletes to increase their performance. The use of PEDs in athletic competition can date back to ancient Greece. Athletes use PEDs to run faster, jump higher and recover at an increased pace. Many athletes are pressured into using PEDs by coaches or managers and are not thoroughly educated the harmful health issues that can come along with taking performance-enhancing drugs. A rising issue is if performance-enhancing drugs should be allowed in professional sports. I believe that in any professional sport, the use of performance-enhancing drugs by athletes should continue to be banned because this rule will help to keep athletes from abusing these harmful drugs.
With all the lights and cameras, of course, athletes want more attention than the others and for them steroids is the answer. Steroids not only affect your body physically, but your brain emotionally and that’s why there is a higher risk than thought when it comes to the decision to use steroids or not. For your body, you are essentially quickening its deterioration and actually weakening it while you are trying to strengthen it. It’s a domino effect of future health problems. From
