The overall process of the project has been successful. Due to current constraints, some of the goals have not been met to their fullest degrees, though some have been exceeded. The main benefit of this project has not been financial gains from limiting spending, but rather from having peace of mind knowing where I am in relation to my income that I allocate to life expenses. I am following my long term goal of sustaining a new organizational routine. This has helped me better maintain my finances with my new and very strict schedule. I am currently going school from seven thirty A.M till two thirty P.M. on most days of the week for my classes and then performing functions needed for work from two thirty P.M until one A.M. I have started recording my information and back dated it for six months. I found a better way to record the information on a spread sheet that is formatted close enough to what my credit card report uses; allowing me to copy and paste my expenditures from that report when I conduct my, bi-weekly, check on my card usage. This process works with an activity that I already perform, which saves me time and makes it more likely that I will develop it into a long term habit. I have sorted through my important business records and filed them separately, but I have not started to shred any documents yet. Because everything has been done in haste, I feel it would be better for me to put off this operation until I have the time to sift through them properly to make sure I do not destroy something important on …show more content…
I also created a general less firm guideline of $375.00 for a weekly expenses level cap. By keeping myself under the fifteen hundred a month level I will make sure that I stay on budget overall. By keeping it under or around three hundred and seventy five for most week it will give me the highest probability not to go over my monthly limit. The way I decided to monitor my limits is to build a spreadsheet that will continuously update information into tables and graphs that gives me quick visual references of where I am at in my plan. I have pasted that information below to be referenced. Also, I have created a long term data sheet which gives me a visual of the past six months to give me enough data to see a true spending trend and to allow me to adjust out anything is that too far out of proportion to the other expenditures. The short term data sheet show me where I am at for the past six weeks and allows me to see if I am spending too much in certain areas on a short term
I sat in my child development class in a “brick and mortar” classroom setting. What was I doing there? I was extremely interested in what the professor was speaking on and what was being discussed. However, I was beginning to doubt whether I wanted to continue in my current field of study, Speech/Language Pathology. I no longer felt I was being fulfilled. There was something lacking. I talked to a few of my friends who mentioned how much money I would make as a Speech/Language Pathologist. I heard what they were saying, but somehow it just did not matter. I had to find the missing link…….
Scheduling and planning are necessary to be successful as a working student. Setting time aside for school assignments is a priority, but it is also important to build in personal time for you, your family, and friends (Blais & Hayes, 2011). S...
This budget includes taxes and health insurance. Every month, I have budgeted to spend $200 on groceries, $100 on a cellphone, $50 on clothes, $50 on gas, $80 on cable, and $35 on entertainment every month. I also have to spend $865 on student loans, $860 on my mortgage, and $275.97 on my car. At the end of the month, I will have about $2814.66 dollars left over. This surprised me because I thought that I was spending a lot on all of the components going into my monthly spendings. Considering all of the extra money that I have, i think that i should put more money into entertainment because chances are I will spend a lot more hanging out with friends, etc. If I didn’t have much money left over at the end of the month, I may not get cable and instead get netflix. I may also spend less on going out to eat every month. I think that I spend a reasonable amount of money on each of the categories
Budgeting is a familiar term to most American families. Dictionary.com defines budgeting as an estimate, often itemized, of expected income and expense for a given period in the future. In order to avoid debt, bankruptcy, or overspending it is common to create a spreadsheet of some sort tracking your spending and income. On a grander scheme, the Unites States has to budget as well.
Budgets are the financial requirements and consequences of plans. Budgets are made with specific goals in mind. Budgets can be used to lower living expenses, increase savings, or to save for a purpose such as: education or retirement. Budgeting is a process that involves these actions: defining goals, gathering information, forming expectations, reconciling goals and data, monitoring goals and variances, adjusting budgets, and redefining goals.
A company's budget serves as a guideline in planning and committing costs in order to meet tactical and strategic goals. Tactical goals such as providing budgetary costs for daily operations, and strategic objectives that include R&D, production, marketing, and distribution are all part of the budgeting process. Serving as a guideline rather than being set in stone, the budget is a snapshot of manager's "best thinking at the time it is prepared." (Marshall, 2003, p.496) The budget is a method in which to reign-in discretionary spending, and will likely show variances between what costs have been anticipated and what costs are actually incurred.
Now that I am well into my sophomore year of college, I think that I finally have a good idea about time management. Being a full time student in twenty credit hours that is working part time can feel overwhelming at times. There were times in the last year where I felt like I had too much to do, and not enough time. This caused me so much stress, but I couldn’t be mad at anyone but myself. I procrastinated by spending too much time watching TV, and on social media. However, that was not the case at all. Luckily, with time I have learned to get ahead when possible, and to make to-do list. That allows me to get assignments done
I plan on using time management to help me to continue my goal to earn a master in social work. I will use a schedule to help me in professional work, personal life and graduate school this will allow me to be flexible and restructure my time. Also, utilizing admission counselor, academic advisor and field placement coordinator when I feel I am struggling in any areas or need assistance in achieving my goals to become a licensed clinical social
If I do not use my time wisely, work can get behind and suffer. I am responsible for keeping paperwork up to date, sending out contracts, verifying information from families among other things. I take pride in working “smarter not harder” by being organized and proficient, this allows me to get more done in a day. This skill is going to be key to my success in school. I will use my time management balance work, school and home life being successful in all fields.
I will accommodate my new 20-25 hour per week time commitment in my personal schedule by limiting burn out by setting points within my task to take breaks, or break-up the task into smaller manageable pieces that won’t require as much time in one setting. Sometimes a quick look around the room can help keep you focused and not get tired of what you are working on. I practice this method weekly and it seems to work out great for me. I have several task around my house, in addition to overtime demands at work, and commitments from my significant other, it can become a per hassle. One of the first things that I do is to look at my school work for the week, and I will divide-up an acceptable amount of what I need to do on a daily basis, in order
In today's fast paced world often times we don’t realize how we go through life at full speed never slowing down to just stop and take a breath. Always trying to get to the next appointment, teachers meeting, and get togethers with friends and family; time is fleeting. For the people out there that have no problem with organizing their life I applaud you. Being able to manage everything without missing a beat is something I wish I was accomplished at. But my outside obligations to work, and family are constantly getting in the way of my schooling.
Therefore, I needed to fit random hours of work into my tight schedule with academic studies and extracurricular activities, a tremendous challenge for me, especially during my exam periods. I asked my co-worker, a university student, about how to be well-organized and motivated.
Budget is combining your income and expenses to decide how much money you are going to spend on an item. Budget is an important step to determine your financial health and financial stability. It’s an important financial tool because it can help plan for expenses, cut cost were unneeded, save for future goals, plan for emergencies that occur inexpediently, and list what you are spending and saving.
These classes usually require at least one hour of time to be spent on homework to do well in the classes. With four difficult classes and extracurricular activities, it is nearly impossible to sleep by 10PM to receive proper sleep. This semester of my senior year, I am taking Western Civilization, English 111-112, Introduction to Business, and U.S. Government I & II; and, I am participating in marching band and scholastic bowl as extracurricular activities. Marching band practices at my school are Tuesday and Thursdays after school to 5 P.M, and football games we must attend and perform at on Fridays. In scholastic bowl, we are expected to study at least an hour on our own every day, and we have matches every Monday.
This is one of the great accomplishments that you should be proud of. Spending money is one of the challenges we have once we have money in our hands. So it is great if you are able to distinguish what are the expenses and what you can do to reduce them.
