This paper is going to focus on sexual harassment in the workplace, how sexual harassment affects employees and how companies can minimize sexual harassment in the workplace. Sexual Harassment Sexual harassment has always been a serious issue in the workplace, both public and private organizations face this issue, most or all sexual harassment victims are usually women. Sexual harassment violates the civil rights act of 1964 (Gomez & Balkin, 2012). There are two ways to display sexual harassment. If an individual commits all these acts, without receiving consent from the individual, they are calling or texting then it's classified as sexual harassment. Although, stalking is a different matter, unless the person is walking her home and she agrees to let him walk her home, then it's not a problem, but if she is not aware of his presences then that's harassment. And the second form of sexual harassment is quid pro quo harassment (Gomez & Balkin, 2012). This form of sexual harassment involves seeking or giving out sexual favors to gain rewards, for example, to get a promotion or get an increase in salary. Victims that report sexual harassment usually hire lawyers to pursue their case this means they must pay these lawyers for their legal consultations and if these victims are suing the company or a high executive member in the company they might lose their wages or be sent on administrative leave without pay, this, in turn, causes financial problems and can also lead to career suicide. However, some employees might decide to leave their jobs due to the sexual harassment case, although it does not resolve the financial problem they are going to
