“In rich countries of the world, slaves suffer as servants, agriculture workers and prostitutes.”(Kutner) Many people are being captured and being sexual abused just for money and I think that is horrible. People are being sell against their will to be somebody property.(Kutner) In history it was very legal to start the sex trafficking everyone was ok with it. Till this day it's still goes on but it's illegal and i'm trying to figure out why isn't anybody doing anything.
Sex trafficking started back in the history during WWI.(Kutner) It all started when everyone wanted people to work for them. More of the rich people wanted the poor to work for them so they won't

(Kevin Bales and Becky Cornell, published in Canada and the USA in 2008 by Groundwood Books)In the New times it is very high profits, very low purchase cost, and slaves are disposable. Over the times it was less a problem they can easily get rid of slaves because it is so much slaves and prices are lower because money wasn’t a problem as it used to be. People should think about this because this is how the world is evolving now. More slaves and more money because if it doesn’t cost that much more people will buy it.
Why does this go on? How can people stop human slavery? Have anybody tried to even speak up on this problem? If people could come together and make a protest about these problems maybe this can be a better place. Seems like nobody really cares about kids being held against their will to do things that normal teens wouldn’t have to do in life.
If we don’t stop this right now everybody would soon become of slave and for us to not do anything about it make it seem like it's ok to use their body for no good just for drugs and money. (Kevin

There are different sides to everything . They would promise people freedom if you work for them for quite some time and do the things that was needed for them. I understand because at that time people wanted to get out of their country because of wars or their parents would send their kids off.(Kevin Belles) “Slaves everywhere are frequently sexually abused , raped and forced into prostitution.” ( Kevin Belles and Becky Cornell, published in Canada and in the USA in 2008 by Groundwood
Kotrla, K., & Wommack, B. A. (2011). Sex Trafficking of Minors in the U.S.: Implications for Policy, Prevention and Research. Journal of Applied Research on Children: Informing Policy for Children at Risk: Vol. 2 (Iss. 1), article 5.
Some governments still don’t have any laws that ban this evil and it is not good for people who suffer from it as it runs rampant in those countries. The places that need the government's help with this the most, have governments that are failing to protect them. The UN Chronicle says that the only way to end sex trafficking and give these victims the closure they deserve is the “prosecution of traffickers and protection of victims”(UN Chronicles). It is not the girls fault and if these traffickers are punished and made an example of, it could discourage others from following this dark path and this will mitigate and eventually end sex trafficking. Some countries don’t persecute the traffickers, or they do very little to punish them and this needs to change to eliminate sex trafficking. When some countries are “lagging behind with no counter-trafficking laws at all”(Jesionka), this prevents people who are held captive from getting the justice they deserve in some parts of the world. If the world worked together to eliminate this, the countries that are exploited for this trade would keep their people safer. The countries need to take on these traffickers if there is going to be any difference in this modern slavery. Not enough is being done to catch and punish these criminals and this is a giant problem. When others can actually see the problem, their governments
Society often overlook crimes that are not as trending, meaning, if a certain crime was not featured often on TV even with high severity, then it would not be viewed as a major issue. One prime example is child sex prostitution. There are not a lot research concerning this particular type of crime, in addition to a small amount of ample evidence supporting the level of severity, and coming up with prevention policy (Reid, 2012). Despite minimal amount of research investment, there is a growing pattern for this type of service, both around the world and United States (Fong & Cardoso, 2010). Although, most sex trafficking cases are often more associated with adults, it is actually the youth and/or child populations that are increasing in the
In 1865 the United States passed the thirteenth amendment of the constitution which formally abolished the practice of slavery in the United States. Over a century has went by since this day, and yet somewhere behind the mask of freedom that our country holds with such pride lingers a hidden trade. This is the trade of modern day slavery that remains prevalent in our country. Despite the freedoms we are granted as a citizen of the United States,- human trafficking is an enormous issue that is often overlooked. In fact very little light is shown on this topic, but the awful reality is there. Every day women, children, and even men are kidnapped, taken from their families, and forced into free labor and sexual exploitation.
Sex trafficking is when women, young girls, and young boys are held in slavery and forced into prostitution for the financial gain of others in brothels in the United States, Europe, and other developing countries such as Thailand and the Philippines (Sexual Slavery). It’s happened to many women and children throughout many years in many of these countries for money and more power. Often purchased or kidnapped off the street, women, girls, and boys are trafficked across international
In order to understand how sex trafficking affects its victims, one must first know the severity of sex trafficking and what it is. The issue of sex trafficking affects 2.5 million people at any given time (Abas et al., 2013). The form of sex slavery affects many women and children across the world. Even though both males and females are sexually trafficked and exploited, there is a deep emphasis on the sexual exploitation of women and children. This is due to gender discrimination (Miller, 2006). This is because women and children are more vulnerable and appeal to the larger populations of brothels and the so-called “clients” since the majority are men. Ecclestone (2013) stated that children as young as age three are trafficked. Sex trafficking has changed over time; “Today, the business of human sex trafficking is much more organized and violent. These women and young girls are sold to traffickers, locked up in rooms or brothels for weeks or months, drugged, terrorized, and raped repeatedly” (Walker-Rodriguez & Hill, 2011). It is found that many of the victims of sex trafficking are abducted, recruited, transported and forced into involuntary “sex work”. These sexual acts include prostitution, exotic dancing, pornography, and sexual escort services (McClain & Garrity, 2011). What happens to these sex trafficking victims is extremely traumatizing.

Discussion Significance The results provided by the present research study supported the hypothesis that there is a need of safe housing for sexually exploited and sex trafficked youth in Rochester, Minnesota. With a growing population and an expanding community, Rochester is seeing an increase in the demand for sexual trafficking. Although this issue is present, it can be difficult to identify the victims. More specifically, victims often fall through the cracks and since a lot of agencies or programs tend to be female-oriented, male victims will often go unnoticed more than female victims.
Many American citizens know of the criminal act of sex trafficking in third world countries, but very few know how much it takes place in the United States. In America prostitution, pornography, and stripping are all considered acts of sex trafficking when they are forced on the victim. This increased crime has led to victimization, physical and psychological effects and after-effects of American and international victims. The government is aware of the slavery of humans taking place in this country and it has to release funds in creating programs for sex trafficking survivors and re-authorize the act that protects sex trafficking victims, in order to support the equal rights for every citizen.
Sex trafficking is a form of contemporary slavery that induces and forces people into a commercial sex trade against their will. Many factors contribute to the sex trade and the exploitation occurs mostly to women and children. Through the age, gender, class, and race many are trapped in a never-ending cycle of coercion and abuse in order to survive in the corrupt society around them.
Sex trafficking is essentially systemic rape for profit. Force, fraud and coercion are used to control the victim’s behavior which may secure the appearance of consent to please the buyer (or john). Behind every transaction is violence or the threat of violence (Axtell par. 4). Just a decade ago, only a third of the countries studied by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime had legislation against human trafficking. (Darker Side, par.1) Women, children, and even men are taken from their homes, and off of the streets and are brought into a life that is almost impossible to get out of. This life is not one of choice, it is in most times by force. UNODC estimates that the total international human trafficking is a $32-billion-per-year business, and that 79% of this activity comprises sexual exploitation. As many as 2 million children a year are victims of commercial sexual exploitation, according the the U.S. State Department.-- Cynthia G. Wagner. (Darker Side, par. 4) The words prostitute, pimp, escort, and stripper tend to be way too common in the American everyday vocabulary. People use these words in a joking manner, but sex trafficking is far from a joke. Everyday, from all different countries, people are bought and sold either by force or false promises. Some are kidnapped and others come to America with dreams of a dream life and job. The buyers involved in the trade will do anything to purchase an innocent life just to sell for their own selfish profit. Many people wouldn’t think of a human body to be something you can buy in the back room of a business or even online. But those plus the streets are where people are sold most often. There are many reasons and causes for sex trafficking. The factors behind sex traffic...
Have you ever been impelled to make something you do not want to? People are myopic about this topic. Around 15,000 in the United States are put into slavery per year. Trafficking is enslavement; it is an action that violates your rights. Slavery developed back in the 1619’s when they used slaves for forced labor and domestic labor. This problem can happen to anyone in any part of the world. Modern Slavery it is different from past ones now you can become a slave quickly even when you have debt. Modern slavery can cost you, your opportunities to study in a good college, your freedom even your life. Slavery it is not human, and it is also illegal, and it should not be done to anyone, everyone deserves their rights to be free and become who they want to be some day in the future. To stop this, we should all firmly make campaigns to stop slavery, build a campaign to make people realize that we all have human rights; we should fight for new policies and laws on slavery and human trafficking. They do not see that when they enslave a person then take the opportunity for a person to be free, have a life, be someone in life. They do not care when they slave persons; they think it is ok, and it is totally not ok.
To begin, slavery continues everyday because we allow it and help it continue. According to Source 1, ¨Modern-day is driven, by an increasing demand for cheap labor, which helps companies produce inexpensive goods. Those products- clothes, rugs, and sneakers, for example- are then sold throughout the world, including the U.S. ¨. Based on the article, we can infer that if we buy products made by slaves the companies will keep buying more and more slave made products. This proves that we are the cause of why slavery continues and keeps spreading. To reiterate, we are the cause of these poor children been taken
The best theory to explain sex trafficking is the conflict perspective. There are different groups in society; there are conflicts between these groups that generate economic inequality. The lack of jobs, low wages and high cost of living caused by inflation provides an opportunity to human traffickers. Conflict theorists imply that women are being used as "Sex Slaves" because they are helpless and being taught that they are nothing.
Human trafficking (sex slaves or prostitution and servitude) in this world is getting in some ways out of hand. It seems that some people have their own option on how things should be; as in, the way they live their lives with no regards of how they affect the other person or people around them. They do not think about the consequences or the punishment if they are caught, all they think about is themselves and what they want right here and now. It’s even more annoying that the people with lots of money are the ones that seems to careless and or take advantage of others that are less fortunate than themselves.
