How can we forget September 11th? That fateful day when our lives and the towers crumbled. It was a bright Tuesday morning in Manhattan and flights AA11 and UA175 were cruising out of Manhattan and on to their destinations. It had just gone 8:40am, then out of nowhere flight 11 appeared to be heading in a direct line with the north tower of the World Trade Centre, suddenly it plunged into the top of the tower leaving a gaping hole. The passenger plane exploded into flames. Panic erupted. People were running for the stairs and diving out of windows eighty floors high in a desperate attempt to escape with their lives from the horrific events. You could not imagine how terrified the people on the plane must have been, knowing the fact that they were part of the plan to destroy one of America's most symbolic buildings. But could you imagine how happy the suicide terrorists were that they were about to destroy one of America's most symbolic buildings. Firemen who were almost certain to lose their lives but kept on going were scrambling up sets of stairs in both towers attempting to save at least some peoples lives. But then eighteen minutes after the first disaster struck; the second tower was hit by another hijacked plane causing another huge explosion. More panic. The first tower collapsed as if peeling apart soon after, this sent up a bellowing cloud of smoke and debris flying hundreds of feet in the air and shooting down the nearby road. The debris cloud engulfed everything in its path; shop windows were shattered and road surfaces were brought up from the ground. Everyday people who were leading a normal life up to about two hours ago were now frantically running for their lives from the terrible sight that loomed over them. The sight of the collapsing towers was too much for many people to comprehend but they were forced to keep fleeing from the massacre that was all around them. For some people the need to help others
