Changes have to be change by the fact that many students from Anaheim High School are not succeeding, the way to do it is to let them earn themselves a full ride scholarship to a four year University. For the ones that can achieve the goal do not have to struggle for money in the future, which then have to pay early on. Many of the students from California receive scholarship by after school programs, sports, and excellent grades. Anaheim High School should pressure the students to have extraordinary grades throughout their freshmen year to senior year and the only way to do that is to give them a reward for their hard work. A program that only focuses on freshmen students to be drafted for a total of forty-percent. The students will have …show more content…
recommendations to complete such as a high GPA of a 3.5 or better, one program after school, and classes that universities recommend students to have to apply for them. All teachers and staff should understand the situation, the students that would actually succeed in each class in Anaheim would be only two students, so the number of success in students should increase even higher. In order to be in the program, students must be a freshmen because we want them to show us what they are capable of throughout the four years of high school. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors would not be qualified, a year or more can determine their knowledge but we want to see more. For example, in order to fulfill a career at a university a student must attend four years or more to do what they want, a student can’t just go for three years or lower to succeed after high school. Freshmen must be willing to work hard, to do their homework, and to use their other program as an advantage as well to get another scholarship. Which means that if they qualify for another scholarship from the other program, it would lead for someone else to take their spot. And if that happens even more high school freshmen can enter the program. The pie graph shows how many graduate student have to pay back the money they were loaned. The percentage for the color blue is increases its size. Many students still have to pay a way bigger amount of money to banks, that would haunt them the rest of their life. A well known program named KIPP is an example, there is only fifty schools that were created in the united states for lower class students. It is known for their valuable students who work hard enough to succeed in life, the program is also known for their high mathematics skills that they teach to their students. KIPP promises that eighty-four percent of their students would increase their academic level in mathematics and ninety percent of the students would earn scholarships, to parochial or private high schools, and eighty percent of their students would also accomplish to enter a college. As it is said students need an opportunity to get what they want. They have to leave everything behind, focus on their standards, and always be on time to give out their standards. This was just a reasearch of a program that can do anything possible for their students so they can achieve, to give them a chance, and to be the first one in their family. Teachers would agree on having a program for free scholarships but the district would fight to oppose. The district would show data that the students of Anaheim high school aren’t prepared for any succeeding future. The district, in their mind would make up theories so that the school shouldn’t be granted money for their low capabilities and do not achieve their standards as a school. Their is something known as categorical grants that the government give out to schools, airports, etc. If the district and Anaheim High School can make an agreement, then it could happen. The government would send a check to the district but the district must make expectation to the school so they can receive the money. The expectations to get the money would be having all freshmen, even if their not in the program to have good grades, so in that way if we get the money the percentage of the students can enter the program could increase even better. In order to achieve such a high GPA, students are not gifted as other with a high IQ, the important task to do is study frequently, to know what the main goal is, and to not be under active. Their are other students, teachers and tutors that are willing to help others students succeed in a subject that they are struggling with disadvantages. Take many advantages of what the schools gives, learning is free not a punishment, and make clever decisions. Once the year comes to enter as freshmen, many students would change classes just because of the manner the teacher teaches, learning from the standards that teachers wants a student to achieve is a great open mind for that same year. Hard teachers are always goals that can be achieved by just giving more effort. Some of the students would see their homework assignment but are not willing to do the work for vary reasons such as, the homework is too easy. Who cares if it’s easy, it’s better to practice than to do nothing. The graph shown here is an example of students who graduate in areas in science, engineering, or math show what the school is known for and how many students graduate successfully. Even though forty percent of freshmen that enter the program, some would not be interested, some would give it a chance and then fall, some would miss the opportunity for moving out of state or school, etc.
So the percentage of forty percent would go down, this would mean only some of the students from the program would be receiving their free scholarship. It’s hard to believe it but the forty percent of the student will drop but in addition there would be more students to go on to college, receive a degree, and be successful in the future and that what some teachers and parents want. That’s why the forty percent is many, many kids who would have this opportunity will fail for such reason, but that’s something else, the reason is so that the kids could have passion for what’s coming. Students should be given a chance to be prepare for college and also be on task in high school, that’s the way to keep them in track. The graph shows students overall GPA during the years of 2006 through 2015. In 2006 students had dropped GPA scores until 2010. From the start of 2011 the GPA overall had increased perfectly all the way to 2015. If high school students keep on achieving high grades and keep on increasing the GPA then their is a way to give out free
money. Now that the situation is explained, let the school know that we do need opportunity scholarships. If we do get the scholarships needed for the school program we must act immediately so that the number of students that succeed in high school can go to a university. The students would not have to struggle with money, parents, families and loans are very stressful for everyone. It is good to get grants by websites, banks that offer free money such as FAFSA. The GPA will determine if you had succeeded or not. The program will help many students and also families for not to struggle with money. The semester will also determine because it will show if they had been on time and grades are due and no one can change their letter grade to another one. All a person needs to have is to have a chance and never give up on their future. If you get accepted to an amount of money throughout a loan than get it because it would help eventually. The purpose is to give out the program to the district so they can accept it and get money from the government. I think that this is supposed to created throughout the whole United States. The program such as KIPP is an example, it gives chances to elementary or middle school children to have the opportunity to be someone in the future and sometimes be the first one in their families to ever go to college. That’s what we what to make parents proud, to make yourself proud. For the money, it would come from fundraiser, games, sell food, etc. Once these freshmen become sophomores to juniors then to seniors they become excellents in their high school years making them leaders to the other ones that come in. They would help and give determination on other people as well. We need to let know to other high school that we can achieve and not be named that school were only some kids can be successful and the others become a minority, low society family. We need to stop and become a better school for other kids that would be coming in through the door of success.
Last summer I volunteered at a local hospital for a total of 136 hours. At the end of the summer I received an honorable mention award for being a dedicated volunteer who is highly respected around the hospital. Furthermore, I've been a committed volunteer during this school year. I have also been an active member of my school's HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) chapter; this March I will be competing in a medical terminology competition against members of other HOSA chapters across the state. Additionally, I am a devoted member of my school's academic decathlon team. Finally, I have been a member of CSF (California Scholarship Federation) for the past two years.
I think High schools with a 3.0 GPA should earn free college tuition at state run colleges because the student education rates would probably rise leading to less people who have no jobs and jobs available could be more often obtainable. A problem could be the amount of jobs available to the people who got their education because more job spaces would be taken quicker leading to a need of more jobs which could result in some of the students who got their education not having a job because they are all taken. In this case, the homeless rates could possibly rise with no one able to receive a job around. As well as the people who are already homeless, such as high school dropouts, people who can not afford a house, in spite of all of the reasons, the
Because of this, graduation numbers might drop, or the people who do graduate may not be as well prepared for the workforce. Yes, there are still entry requirements that limit the amount of students allowed into the school, but much of the drive for the students comes from the fact that they are paying a lot of money to be there. Also, giving away college education would almost certainly do the opposite of what people want it to do, which is give more money to students from richer families than from poorer ones. It isn’t that they want to necessarily take money from the richer families, but they want to give poorer families more opportunities to get money. “Without a dramatic overhaul of how we understand student benefits, making college more or entirely free would most likely boost the wealth of college attendees without securing any important egalitarian gains.”
First of all, the children are demonstrating a a level of academic achievement so there was a lot of effort put into their work to get into a good college. instead of children doing wrong they will be off the streets getting a good education and working hard to better themselves. Just think about how the rate of homeless would change. Children with a 3.0 GPA that have worked hard to maintain grades should be able to get free college tuition. Just think about how the number of students attending college will increase in a good way. It hard to think about many children grow up and dream about what they want to be but its all thrown away
According to Trade Schools, Colleges and Universities “Many of America's top-performing high school students never apply to the most challenging colleges and universities even though they have the ability to succeed at them. They often come from minority and low-income households and end up pursuing more affordable, less-selective schools instead.” College can be a burden to many students in a variety of different ways, but the most common reason is due to funds. Making college free for students will help this problem by increasing jobs in the work industry that require degrees, they should be affordable to all people at all cost, as well as the funds should be completely cut off because it would increase jobs and help America's economy grow.
Throughout high school I have dreamed of having the opportunity to attend Indiana University. I have a true passion for babies. I love to learn how babies are developed and how they become such an amazing part of the world. Therefore, I would like to apply to Indiana University and pursue a degree in Pediatric Nursing. I would love to be able to deliver babies and deliver new life into this earth. There are several opportunities available for me to get involved with new leadership opportunities. I want to be able to be a leader for all age groups.
dropout, due to lack of effort, B. finish with an associate’s degree and limit their choices in a job compared, or C. continue after a community college and further their degree at a university. Yet, the third reason is the reason that makes the proposal questionable as to whether it is really a need or if it’s a want by the people that want money handed to them to help their future. If people can afford two more years of college after a community college, or they have scholarships to help them pay for the following two years, then why can they not afford a community college that can be less than a thousand dollars to attend to? The proposal seems to be something that is not totally needed to be one more thing that raises taxes, as there are scholarships for various cases and made to be affordable to further an education after high
Having the college experience is everyone’s dream, especially High School students who are ready to get out into the world and explore. College is very important for furthering someone’s career, but no one thinks about all the costs and the stress that comes along with college. Tuition fees and costs are increasing more and more each year. Now days it feels like you have to be a millionaire just to attend a good college and get a good degree in what you were attending for. There are some students that do not have a lot of money and live on very little things with their parents, but indeed are very smart and have a 4.0 GPA. Those students are the ones that are unable to attend college if they cannot afford it. College tuition is too expensive,
For many years now, advocates for giving out scholarships based only on financial need have been pushing to remove special abilities from the criteria to award the money. This proposed system is already in use in the form of financial aid. Scholarships were created to reward individuals who exhibited talent that would benefit the college. Therefore, the basis for giving scholarships should consist equally of scholastic achievement, athletic ability, and need. Scholarships are in place to reward special talents. They should remain separate from financial aid where the only determining factor is need.
The author, Frank Bruni’s, main argument was that college admissions were being too selective in their process, and that they were looking into the wrong details from the student. He talks about how there will be a report coming out in the very near future from top administrators like Yale, M.I.T. and the University of Michigan, that is called “Turning the Tide”, that will point out the flaws within the admissions process of top schools. The author thinks that, “Focused on certain markers and metrics, the admissions process warps the values of students drawn into a competitive frenzy.” Not only does it bring out unhealthy competitiveness, it gives and unfair chance to kids who come from less fortunate backgrounds. The report coming out outlines, “Less emphasis on standardized test scores, which largely correlate with family income.” Also he explains how colleges should be less focused on how many AP classes a student takes because poorer high schools may not even be able to offer AP’s. The senior year of high school can be the most stressful, yet most important year in a student’s life. A few contributing factors to the stress of the senior year have to do with major life decisions. Choosing a career that a person can enjoy for their entire life is a huge responsibility. Choosing the correct college and major can affect the success of an individual’s career path. Another huge stress is figuring out a way to pay for college. Studies show that the average college graduate has approximately $37,000 in student loans (“US Student Loan Debt”). It is also overwhelming to keep grades up and get an acceptable score on the ACT to qualify for scholarships and admittance to colleges. Ohio University and Bowling Green State University are both excellent college choices; however, Bowling Green State University is a better choice for me mainly due to the location, and it offers an excellent program for my career path.
For my life to be perfect all I would need to happen would be to earn a full ride scholarship to GCU ( Grand Canyon University), I would get a fun, easy, high paying first job when I'm 16 and it will make me lots of money, and finally once I am able to drive my parents would buy me a Jeep Wrangler in the color black.
Once in awhile I go to them if I’m struggling with school I would ask them for any advice or recommendation they had for me for example. through my situation. Through gives ideas what I should do, so that I don’t get overwhelmed, or even get overwhelm even get anxiety from all of the stress. me. I’m proud that finally after going to school for so many year that a teacher has believed in me and that I’m capable accomplishing my goal, without putting me aside. She recommended that I should get a 504 plan. A 504 plan is “ is a plan developed to ensure that a child who has a disability identified under the law and is attending an elementary or secondary education in institution.” She also noticed that I’m its smart girl, just that I need extra help and I was fine with that. She is another person that has shape as a student that I’m today.
Gandhi once said, "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." When senior year was approaching there was much pressure to decide what I was going to do with my life. There were many boxes filled with opportunities I could choose from, but that's just it, they were separate boxes that did not run together. I kept trying to convince myself that I needed to pick something that would provide stability rather than choosing something that bettered others. At the end of the day, I couldn't look away from the antagonizing want to provide the voice for those who are not heard. With this being stated, one of my main dreams is to serve as a Peace Corps Volunteer after graduating from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in International Studies to help develop youth and education in rural countries so generations to come can create
There are many reasons, choices, and experiences that I have made to bring me to the point of where I am in life. Those choices and why I have chosen to continue my journey at Colorado Christian University, (CCU). Choosing CCU is something I believe is a calling. Although it has been the choices and choices of my spouse that have made brought me to where I am in life. I can only hope and believe that it is GOD’s plan that he has for me. Through my career in the US Army I have been challenged with many different things that I never thought I would experience in this lifetime. I am going to be leaving the military due to certain circumstances. I have had many accomplishments during my military career. I plan to continue my career serving our
