For my life to be perfect all I would need to happen would be to earn a full ride scholarship to GCU ( Grand Canyon University), I would get a fun, easy, high paying first job when I'm 16 and it will make me lots of money, and finally once I am able to drive my parents would buy me a Jeep Wrangler in the color black. First, I need to earn a full ride scholarship to GCU. The reason why I have to earn this in order for my life to be perfect is because GCU is my dream college and I care a lot about going to college and things like whether it has good housing, or fun on campus activities and Great programs of study. You have to remember this when deciding to go to college, going to a university is a once in a life time experience, once you reach
Last summer I volunteered at a local hospital for a total of 136 hours. At the end of the summer I received an honorable mention award for being a dedicated volunteer who is highly respected around the hospital. Furthermore, I've been a committed volunteer during this school year. I have also been an active member of my school's HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) chapter; this March I will be competing in a medical terminology competition against members of other HOSA chapters across the state. Additionally, I am a devoted member of my school's academic decathlon team. Finally, I have been a member of CSF (California Scholarship Federation) for the past two years.
In high school I was involved in 3 clubs, 3 varsity sports, and did a least 40 hours of community service through National Honors Society and National Technical Honors Society. I participated in National Technical Honors Society and Health Occupations Students of America(HOSA) through Lapeer County Education and Technical center, and participated in athletics at Imlay City high school. During my high school career I played varsity volleyball for two years, varsity basketball for one year, and varsity soccer for four years, but I jumped back and forth from junior varsity to varsity my freshman year. Also, while being apart of HOSA I was a junior representative my junior year of high school, and I am Vice-President my senior year. And I also mentor our middle school chapter of HOSA and help them to accomplish all of their competitive events.
Scholarship, leadership, character, and service are four attributes that define an excellent student. Being in high school, it’s difficult at times to be a leader, show your character, and be involved with voluntary services while being focused on scholarship, but I have managed to do all four numerous times. I am so grateful and excited to have the chance to be a part of the National Honors Society.
What are the circumstances that brought you to apply for the foundation emergency fund scholarships?
Throughout high school I have dreamed of having the opportunity to attend Indiana University. I have a true passion for babies. I love to learn how babies are developed and how they become such an amazing part of the world. Therefore, I would like to apply to Indiana University and pursue a degree in Pediatric Nursing. I would love to be able to deliver babies and deliver new life into this earth. There are several opportunities available for me to get involved with new leadership opportunities. I want to be able to be a leader for all age groups.
While I wish finding my way around the school was my only problem, I was faced with some internal challenges. As the school year started, my friends slowly started to leave to these “big shot” colleges or simply move away to other community colleges. I, too, wanted the complete “college experience” somewhere in Arizona or across the country; yet I felt stuck and unaccomplished. I also felt jealousy which could have been because I did not get to decorate my dorm room. While talking about dedicating hard work to your education, Gina Rodriguez said “Just remember, during those times of fear and doubt, that you are right now discovering your true strength.” And in those times of doubt, I reminded myself why I could not just move and leave everything behind. The root of my challenges and concerns are my family. As I enrolled as a full time student, my family was fighting some financial problems which created marriage troubles for my parents. I could not leave at a time like this. I knew it was not the first time my parents were talking divorce but somehow I knew it was best to stay. I got financial aid from the school which saved me the fuss of asking my parents for money. It really meant so much to not put another worry on their
..., many people think about having millions and millions of dollars; however, they fail to consider the little things that can truly make you happy. Little things such as family and friends, and most importantly, good mental as well as physical health. If you are healthy but live in poverty, you are not truly living your American Dream. If you are a millionaire but are dying from a disease, you are not truly living your American Dream. So what exactly does it take to live a ?perfect life?? That is a question that has no right or wrong answer; it simply depends on whom you are asking. Enjoyable job, plenty of money, spare time, and healthiness define my American Dream; what is the definition of yours?
Although money isn’t everything, being financially secure is very important. Money can’t buy love or happiness, but it makes life easier knowing you have a house to go home to, food in your fridge, and clothes to put on your back. My family had a hard time when I was growing up with making ends meet and I want to make sure that I do everything in my power to keep that from happening to my future family. If I apply myself in college and strive for knowledge, I will have the potential to become very adept in my field which will help me achieve my goal of financial stability because I’ll be able to keep a job. I also hope for my future that I stay open to new experiences, whatever the world may throw at me. I want to be able to travel and see new cultures, societies, and people. Hand-in-hand with traveling, I would love to volunteer all over the world, as well. I take great pride in doing volunteer work and it would be an enlightening experience to be able to help out around the world. Something else I am passionate about is music. I hope that I have the time and ability to continue on with my music career as my life progresses. Doing bands and music things at UWEC will help me to achieve this goal because I will learn immensely under great instruction. Going to UW Eau Claire will aid me in reaching all of these goals I have set myself. I am excited to see what my future holds for me
There are many reasons, choices, and experiences that I have made to bring me to the point of where I am in life. Those choices and why I have chosen to continue my journey at Colorado Christian University, (CCU). Choosing CCU is something I believe is a calling. Although it has been the choices and choices of my spouse that have made brought me to where I am in life. I can only hope and believe that it is GOD’s plan that he has for me. Through my career in the US Army I have been challenged with many different things that I never thought I would experience in this lifetime. I am going to be leaving the military due to certain circumstances. I have had many accomplishments during my military career. I plan to continue my career serving our
For as long as I can remember, I have dreamed of moving to Los Angeles. Even as a child I constantly wished going to college in Los Angeles. The summer of my senior year, Me and my friends took a Trip to California. I would never forget the whole Experience. After visiting, I decided to move to California but I wasn't financially prepared at the time so I decided to go my Freshman year at Georgia State University Perimeter College. I come from a small, economically Low Country Ethiopia which is located in East Africa. Many people in this Country do not graduate College and for them college is more idealistic concept, not a reality. Neither of my parents attended or finished college.
Money just opens up the door for tons of opportunities, but first you have to obtain the money. I would have to go to college and gain my degree in law, and then start my own law firm in a sizeable city in which my business would thrive. Once I have my business under control, I would then hire other lawyers for my firm and keep an incoming revenue for myself because I have to be able to sustain the money flow. Obtaining the sums of money would be my first step in venturing for the perfect life.
A global citizen is that who is willing to use its voice and knowledge to make a change. No one would ever be able to make a change in just one day, it is something that takes time and devotion. I’m really interested in diversity and I’m seeking to what is my role is as a world citizen. The fact that I’m searching for an international education is the proof of my desire to establish myself as a global citizen and my interest in the world issues.
This is what a lot of people dream about but it is something we can not have. To live this life you would need to be a free man. Being free in today’s society would probably mean to not have to work so they could be lazy and live a relaxing life. Sure this sounds nice but no one lives this life because being a free is not what you should want.
My ideal future would be being able to travel to places where I’ve been as well as to places where I haven’t been. I’d imagine myself being happy because I’d have everything I’ve ever wanted. Getting married, buying a house- even if it were a small house with only a few bedrooms in a quiet neighbourhood. After buying a house(,) I’d have a child so that I could spoil them the way my parents spoiled me. In my ideal future(,) I would work at home so that I could be able to spend time with my family I would be my own boss. On my spare time that I would have I would start a an animal shelter one in a foreign country I would help stray animals have a home, people who can not afford to have pets could come play with dogs and cats as well as adopt them. I’d also keep myself entertained by being activite and having my own gymnastics gym.
