OVERALL REFLECTION AND SELF APPRAISAL

When I was young, my dream is to become a successful engineer someday. Of all subject, Mathematics is the easiest for me. I remember how many times I become an honor student during my elementary days and the only subject that lifts my grade is Mathematics. I remember how many times my teacher assigned me to check the seat work of my classmates when I was in high school. And I never thought that I will do this in the future.
Teaching is a calling and a mission. It is calling because big tasks will be given to you as you enter the world of teaching and not all people possess the quality of being a teacher. It is a mission given by God because the teacher's task is not only to educate the mind of students with knowledge but also letting them experience the things that they need to learn. The teacher must be able to inculcate knowledge, skills and values that will affect the life of the students as they go on to their different field. This only shows how big the mission of being a teacher is.

I believe that this philosophy is a window and compass in a teacher's life. It is a compass because it will serve as my guide that I will be using once I enter the real world as I become a professional teacher. It is also an open window that will help me to see the real and different scenarios that are happening during the class. With this, I believe that every student is all in their own unique ways. I must be observant enough to discover the likes and dislikes of my students so that I can assign them different tasks that are based from their abilities.
