Since the effectiveness of teacher effect on students’ performance and schools’ quality, becoming teacher leadership is such a challenging obligation of teachers in higher educational institutions. Regardless the leader position, all teachers can be an effective teacher by developing their teacher leadership performances. Teachers who attempt to develop their teacher leadership must seek the opportunity for professional growth in terms of personalized leadership learning approaches. To start this planning, I used the planning (P) process of the P-O-L-C framework (Carpenter, Bauer, & Erdogan, 2009) to guide my thought. Mission & vision, strategizing, and goals & objectives of my individual development plan must be established in the planning process (Carpenter et al., 2009). The mission and vision statement are a depiction of what I want to achieve in my career and personal growth. In addition, I must set up my goals and potential strategies to promote my personal development. To establish the goals of the individual development plan, the SMART format must be used (Duffus, 2004; University of Wisconsin-Madison, n.d.). Particularly, the effective goals must include a timeframe (Duffus, 2004); therefore, my individual plan will establish the short-term and long-term goals. The following table represents my mission, vision statement, values, and individual development plan.

It is a metaphor about the achievement goal and objectives by good planning skills. One has to plan for what one wants to achieve and where one wants to go. One of the most important things is to have good planning, before taking any project the first think you should do is to create project plan. Planning can be defined as preparing a sequence of action to achieve specific goals and objectives. According to Kerzner (2009), “project planning is desirable that the project manager is involved from project conception through execution. It must be systematic, flexible to handle, closely disciplined through reviews and control and capable of accepting multi functional inputs (pg. 412)”. The importance of planning a project is to describe the work so that it will be easily identifiable to the project team member.
The author has designed the personal learning plan around the diagnosis of his learning needs, statement of specific learning objectives, learning resources and strategies, evidence of accomplishment, how the evidence will be validated, and how the learning will be evaluated. I will concentrate on the five disciplines: Systems Thinking, Personal Mastery, Mental Models, Shared Visions, and Team Learning introduced by Peter M. Senge. The goal of education is to effectively teach students the essential skills and knowledge they will need to establish a productive, positive, self-sufficient life where they can be active members of their communities. An effective leader, while working towards this goal will need to consider the present conditions and demands of the environment they are a part of. In the field of education, both internal and external factors are of crucial importance when developing a plan to lead for success. However, one must note the variables in education are different than those the business sector face, for example; student performance, ability and cultural differences; availability/condition of supplies and materials; goal; educator’s capability, views and attitudes; conditionality of economic support; openness/hostility of influencing communities; state or government performance mandates. A leader who knows where they (students, school, district, community) are now, can approach goals more clearly and develop more effective strategies to arrive at them.
