With miles of pristine white beaches, fantastic weather of sunny days almost all year round and a variety of tourist attractions, it’s no wonder that San Diego is one of America’s favorite holiday destinations. Founded in 1542 by Juan Rodriguez Cabrilla when he landed here from Spain, the city went from being San Miguel to San Diego in the early 17th century.
Apart from manufacturing and technology, San Diego’s has been heavily involved in naval and military operations right from the Second World War. Whether it’s swimming and surfing you want to indulge in or simply laze on the sand under the bright sun, the San Diego coastline is enjoyable for all. La Jolla, Imperial Beach, Ocean Beach and Mission Beach are just few of the stretches of sand you should visit to get your fill of the sun and the sea.

The renowned San Diego Zoo covers over 100 acres of land and is home to some of the most exotic creatures of the world. A full day set aside for this zoo is highly recommended. Sea World, San Diego Zoo Safari Park and Birch Aquarium are a few other spots you can head to if you’re a lover of wildlife.
History buffs can find their way to Old Town, where the city’s Spanish history and heritage is still intact. Buildings and monuments dating back to the 19th century can be found here. Live historic performances that take place here regularly is bound to liven up your visit.
