Every human on the planet aspires to be his or her best, yet most will fail. One way or another, the distractions in the world today have brought mankind to an age in which salvation may be precisely what is needed. Undoubtedly, the strongest force on the planet needs saving from itself. Salvation in religion has always been fascinating to me. I was prompted to accept salvation through the church at a young age. My only question was why? From what did I need saving? Salvation is the idea that, through a religion, one can achieve amnesty for their wrong-doings, and in exchange, receive a greater reward. Christians believe if you repent your sins to Jesus Christ and believe in him, then you will achieve salvation and be allowed to enter Heaven. Similarly, Islam is a religion in which you must believe and devote your life to God by rituals and mindfulness of Muslim teachings. Judaism is similar in this respect; to achieve salvation as a Jew you must study the Torah and other Hebrew teachings, as well as honor other religious and cultural rituals, such as circumcision, Bar Mitzvah, respecting the Sabbath, and eating kosher foods. Unlike the other world religions, Sikhism focuses on love and acceptance of all peoples, no matter their culture or religion; it is a very pious religion with simplicity and equality in mind. The way of salvation for the Sikhs is to live a simple life of love and goodwill, to grow closer to the One God and understand him more.
