In Candor by Pam Bachorz, she presents the theme of sacrifice clouds perspective when Oscar risks his autonomy to save people, for example, Nia from Candor. Oscar has love so deeply for Nia, and that love causes him to be blindsided by the controlling acts he executes towards her.
