Rosalind Franklin The leader I have been researching is Rosalind Franklin. Rosalind Franklin is known for her contribution to the understanding of DNA and RNA. Rosalind Franklin is also commonly known for the famous photo 51 a picture taken by Raymond Gosling who was working under her supervision. She also found the tobacco mosaic virus which is a single stranded RNA virus. Rosalind Franklin was born July 25th 1920 and died April 16th 1958. Rosalind was well educated, open to change, and consistent. Rosalind Franklin was a true leader because of her leadership qualities.

For example, Rosalind Franklin went to several different schools throughout her life. She studied chemistry with the natural sciences tripos. She met, and became partners with a spectroscopist named Bill Price. They worked as laboratory demonstrators. In 1941, Rosalind Franklin was awarded second class honors from her final exams. She accepted a bachelor's degree in qualifications for employment. Franklin was awarded a research fellowship at Newnham college. With this she joined the physical chemistry laboratory of the university of Cambridge. She worked with Ronald Norrish who later won the Nobel Prize in chemistry. Also, in 1950 Rosalind Franklin was granted a three year fellowship to work at king's college, London. In January of 1951, she started working as a research associate in the medical research council's biophysics unit, This was directed by John Randall. She was originally going to work with X-ray diffraction of proteins and lipids in solution. Randall instead switched her to work on DNA fibers because of new developments in the field. She was also the only experienced experimental diffraction researcher at king's college at the time. In addition, Rosalind Franklin left King's college in mid March 1953 for birkbeck college. She worked as a senior scientist with her own research group, funded by ARC The Agricultural Research Council. She worked with and studied structures. Franklin's groups research findings
