To be courageous is to show bravery even when the risks are known. Being courageous means to refuse to give up one’s seat on a public bus, or save the treasures of a Western Civilization, or to devote one’s soul to finding an answer. Being courageous is refusing to give up one’s seat on a public bus. Rosa Parks was courageous when she defended her rights. In the passage An Act of Courage,”she was expected to give up the seat and stand.This is what Rosa Parks was told to do and she refused.”This shows that,Parks was willing to breach the law to help the people around her. Courage was also shown when,”Parks knew the risks when she defended her rights and was determined to do more for her community.”This shows that,Parks was determined to sacrifice herself to defend her rights and help the community.
