What do all heroes have? Courage! Rosa Parks, Monuments Men, and the International Women of Courage are all the definition of courage. Being courageous means to have strength, bravery, and determined on your beliefs. Being determined has a big impact on courage because you need that drive like Rosa Parks did to make a difference. In 1955, Rosa Parks did not give up her seat to a white man. This is courageous because at the time African Americans were treated poorly and she decided to take a stand even though the consequences were harsh. The Monuments Men was an organization that went inside the war to save art from Hitler or from getting damage. This is an example of courage because everybody was running away from the war and they were running into the war. The author states in Paragraph 5 it says “the Monument Men evacuated four hundred and thousand works from Louvre, including the Mona Lisa, which they shuttled to safety six times”. I included the Mona Lisa part because they did not give up and that is an example of courage. Strength is an important part of courageous because when somebody is put down you can help them get up and this can have an impact in people’s lives. These women had changed the world and had a huge impact on society.
