In the United States, citizens have the right, privilege, and duty to vote and take part in the community by electing representatives. The 2016 Democratic National Convention (DNC) was a presidential nomination convention, held in Philadelphia from July 25 through July 28, 2016. In July 28, of 2016, Hillary Clinton gave a speech in Philadelphia formally accepting the Democratic presidential nomination. Clinton is the first lady, Senator and Secretary of State to be the first woman to be nominated to lead the Democratic Party in the 2016 presidential election. Clinton’s speech was rhetorically powerful because she focused in many issues that she would address if elected president, one of the issues she discussed was improving the economy by creating jobs and workers receiving a reasonable, living paycheck. The arrangement of the speech displayed a sense of right moments. Clinton gave her speech in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the same place where representatives from the 13 colonies compromise and wrote the U.S Declaration of Independence. Clinton used the location to go back in history and talk about what it took America to be where it is right now. The where and when created the perfect moment for Clinton’s message to reach the largest number of listeners and viewers. In addition, she used the experiences of Ryan Moore and Lauren Manning to appeal to the audience of what they had to go through and how Clinton worked with the political parties to come up with a solution. Clinton did exaggerated when she said “I was still thinking of Lauren, Debbie and all the other 10 years in the White House…” With everything that happens in the government it is challenging to member every situation that happens.
