Have you ever wondered exactly how or why the Titanic sank in Atlantic Oceans? The Titanic was a British passenger liner that was built to cross the Atlantic ocean. The ship began being built in September of 1908 and was completed on April 2, 1912. Its Maiden voyage was departing from Southampton on April 10, 1912 and was going to New York city. On the 15th of April a Centennial Anniversary of the Famous Titanic ship that was a catastrophe which cost the lives of more than 1,500 people with only 700 survivors. Before arriving on the Titanic Lawrence was a teacher and a journalist that had left behind his son to be on the Titanic, which would sail to America to visit his brother. When the Titanic struck the iceberg, Lawrence got on the lifeboat 13, then was saved by the Carpathia. After the Titanic Lawrence wrote a most superb memoir, The Loss of the SS Titanic, about what had happened being the time of the tragedy. At the age of 89 in February 14,1967, Lawrence died. Then the Titanic was starting to go under the staff was loading only women and children with her boys being 16 and 13 her boys were too old so she stayed back to be with them. While the boat was sinking in Rhoda and her boys decided to jumped in the water where she were able to get on one of the life boats with only women. Rhoda has lost both of her boys to the Titanic sinking and she never recovered for what happened which made her death every sad and upsetting. Rhoda’s story showed how tragic it was because her loss of both her sons. For a mother to lose her children so young does a great deal emotionally, mentally and sometimes physically, she never wanted or even imaged losing her sons. Parents never want to outlive their children and when she lost her boys, that still had to grow and had so much life ahead of them she might have died inside that is why she died a sad and lonely
