Duggan’s Family Campground Some people travel to different states or countries over the summer. However, I normally don’t travel too far over the break, I normally stay in Michigan. Over the summer break, I go to a place where I can hang out with my cousin. That place has numerous activities I enjoy doing. It also is a place where my family and I celebrate a few holidays. This place is Duggan’s Family Campground, a place I love. One reason why I love Duggan’s Family Campground is because I get to hang out with my cousin there. Almost every time I go to the campground my cousin Noah is there. When Noah is at the campground we hang out together. I don’t get to see Noah a whole lot, besides from the campground, because he lives in Canada. …show more content…
We celebrate the 4th of July and Halloween there. On the 4th of July we always participate in a small parade around the campground. In the parade, kids ride their bikes, people on ride golf carts, and they also throw candy to the people watching the parade. On the 4th of July we also go to the beach across the street, lay on a blanket, and watch the beautiful fireworks brighten up the dark night sky. For Halloween we always celebrate it earlier at the campground. We dress up in our costumes and trick or treat at the campers. When the sky starts fading, we go to the pavilion and get free hotdogs, chips, and water. The two holidays I celebrate there are one reason why I love Duggan’s Family Campground. I love Duggan’s Family Campground. Duggan’s Family Campground is a place where I can connect with my cousin. A place where the numerous activities are fun. A place where memories are made and a place where I celebrate some summer holidays with my family. Duggan’s Family Campground is a place I go to, over the summer, and I enjoy going to it. I have made tons of memories there with people I know and love, and I hope to make more memories with them there
It was late in the afternoon when my family and I arrived at our summer vacation destination, Garner State Park. Garner is one of the best and well known places in Texas to go overnight camping, hiking, and swimming. The main attraction of the park is the Frio River which flows through one side of the entire park. While on the other side, it is nothing but the wilderness. There is also a huge mountain with several trails and a couple of caves that people can
3- Family traditions can also be a good resource. In the movie, it shows that Nick and Hallie have a long-standing tradition of going camping. Annie seems eager to participate in this tradition as well. This can be a great bonding activity for the reunited family to spend quality time and get to know each other better.
The beautiful, natural setting for the VJG is seventy-two acres of land nestled in a hardwood forest. The camp is located in Randleman, North Carolina, approximately fifteen miles outside of Greensboro. Nestled in the foothills of the Piedmont Triad, this site offers a forest with several creeks and woodland streams running through the property. Richard Petty donated the land to VJG.
There is no better feeling in this world than to be outdoors with nature, especially when there are numerous activities to dabble in. Often times people take for granted the sentimental value that they can experience by simply walking through a park. God created the Earth to be beautiful and peaceful, and people need to keep it that way. I have always shared a love of the outdoors with my dad and my brother. We have gone on numerous camping, hiking, fishing, and star-gazing trips ever since I can remember. It was no surprise to me when my dad decided to buy a lake house on Hyco Lake, right outside of Roxboro. We got a really good deal on the house, so my dad decided that Hyco Lake was the perfect spot.
The Mohegan Indians are located in the southeastern part of Connecticut near the Thames River Valley in Uncasville, with a current population of approximately 1,000 members. All of the members are of Native American decent and were once associated with the Pequot tribe. "Scientific evidence shows the Native American presence in the area for 10,000 years, but the oral history begins with the beginning, when the Great Spirit created the earth" (http://moheganindians.weebly.com/). The first group of Mohegan’s was part of the Delaware tribe which was called the Wolf Clan, that settled in upstate New York. The Native languages of the Mohegan Indians are English and they also have their own Mohegan dialect, which is called "Algonquin dialect". In this Native language the name Mohegan means "People of the wolf", which fits the tribe perfectly as they were once a heterogeneous group in which the men went to war to protect their tribes and would also go hunting to put food on their families tables while the women stayed home to take care of the children and were horticulturist as they worked in the fields farming each day. Each individual played a major part in keeping the tribe together as a one functional unit.
The park offers guests nightly accommodations among the ancient dunes. Onsite campgrounds and bathhouses give overnighters a private, but a convenient way to make a stay of it. And, tree-hugger straps encourage hammock camping.
During summer or spring time nothing is more joyous then going out for a vacation. Traveling with your family or with a bunch of friends in your favorite RV is incomparably mind blowing! Everyone needs a break from this day to day life that’s for sure!
We dont really have any unique family traditions. The only thing that we seem to do over and over is meet up at an certain family members house and feast. Usually during Thanksgiving it’s the cooler weather. We usually have windbreakers or something of that nature on.
I've been at Camp Green Lake for basically year now. How'd I get there? Stealing, like so many of the boys. My family had
I volunteered as a family pal at Camp Boggy Creek over the weekend of January 20th through 22nd, 2017. Located in Eustis Florida and founded by Paul Newman, Camp Boggy Creek is a 232-acre camp with a large lake for fishing, paddle boating, and kayaking, with an arts and crafts room and an archery station (CBC, 2017).
Do you know who had a really crazy summer vacation? I did! Everyone should take a family vacation to another Country. The exploration of a different culture makes for life long memories. Last summer, after months of planning our family trip to Mexico the day had arrived. The morning was already hot and I was pacing all around the house double checking that I had packed all the necessities for the week long stay. It was time to load up our belongings and hit the road for a 14 hour drive. Knowing that this drive was going to be so long, I stocked up on dvds and snacks for the 3 little ones to keep them entertained in between their nap sessions.
Americans celebrate Halloween as a sort of party in our communities. We hold parties and kids go trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. For
They will be sleeping closer together so the will feel like a family instead of at a resort where the probably won’t talk to each other unless they have to. If they are in a resort there is going to be activity that they are going to do on their own. If the go to a campground they are more likely to do something with you like hiking, fishing and learning about the wild. That is why you should go to a campsite instead of a
I’m on a muddy, yellow bus coming back from camp. I'm twelve and so are you. Prior to leaving for camp, I had imagined it would be just me and three, maybe four, other boys that I hadn't met yet, running around all summer, getting ourselves into trouble. Playing games and just enjoying our summer. You know, typical boy stuff. Ultimately it ended up being me and this one girl. That's you. As long as we are still on the bus its like we are still at camp. Once we reach the pickup point where our parents would be waiting for us camp will be over.
I awoke to the sun piercing through the screen of my tent while stretching my arms out wide to nudge my friend Alicia to wake up. “Finally!” I said to Alicia, the countdown is over. As I unzip the screen door and we climb out of our tent, I’m embraced with the aroma of campfire burritos that Alicia’s mom Nancy was preparing for us on her humungous skillet. While we wait for our breakfast to be finished, me and Alicia, as we do every morning, head to the front convenient store for our morning french vanilla cappuccino. On our walk back to the campsite we always take a short stroll along the lake shore to admire the incandescent sun as it shines over the gleaming dark blue water. This has become a tradition that we do every
