Camp Green Lake. A place to build 'character' for juvenile delinquents. As if. Sure, juvenile delinquents are there and they do their time but building character? No way. At Green Lake you would imagine a beautiful Lake with lush green surroundings, and that was once there but now it's all gone. Now all there is, is dry land for miles, a detonation camp full of boys, and a heap of holes. You see, the boys at Camp Green Lake dig a hole every day to build 'character'. 5 foot deep and 5 feet in every direction, no matter how long you were out in the heat for. There's only one rule at Camp Green Lake, don't upset the Warden.

Groups A,B,C,D and E. I'm in group E, my councillor Mr. Anderson is probably the meanest counsellor there. He hates all the boys in his group and doesn't care about a single one of them. As for the boys, there okay. I'm a bit of a loner in the group and I've been here the longest. All the boys say i stole because he's Australian and to be honest I just rolls with it. "As good as it can be digging holes in the heat," I reply.
"Always a sense of humour," I hear Mr. Pendaski say as I walk back to my hole. Sitting down I look at my lunch, a sandwich with some meat-and-cheese mixture that came from a can like everything else here. There was also a cookie. I watch as the water truck drives off to the the next group which was group D. I can faintly see their figures. It looks as if something going on.

I faintly see two people fighting and Mr. Pendaski walking away from the truck towards them with another kid. They start to talking, about who knows what. Suddenly the fight restarted between the two boys. The smallest kid in the group jumped on top of one of the kids in the fight and began to strangle him. Another kid managed to get him off, while Mr. Pendaski fired his gun into the air.

All the other counsellors come running out to where the commotion is. The warden comes out from her cabin as well. Other boys in my group began to notice what was going on and they inch slightly closer. None of us dare to go where they could see us, anything could
