Research Feedback Form
1. What did you learn during your research placement?
In my research placement, I was able to build a better understanding of Bioretention Cells and cattails, specifically their benefits, purposes and properties, and why it is important to study them. I got to work with several graduate students in the Environmental Lab and was able to assist them with their research in analyzing soil of bioretention cells and water from wetlands. As well, by working in the lab, I obtained a better understanding of work in a laboratory setting and learned about the common instruments and apparatus used in the lab, the safety policies and the common practices (such as how to work under the fume hood, how to clean up after experiments

What aspects of your research placement did you find most valuable and least valuable (differentiate between what was enjoyable and what was useful)?
The most important, useful and enjoyable aspect of my research placement was the variety of research and environment I was able to work with and in. I got to collaborate with all the graduate students in my professor’s research group at least once, and that allowed me to learn more about each of their experiments and as well as their life experiences as a graduate student. Furthermore, by working in various working environments, it gave me a variety of exposure to the different types of practices and technologies used in those environments and that made the experience much more intriguing (as seen in question 1).
The least valuable aspect of my research placement was when there were some days where there was not much work to do and I had to find other ways to spend my time on campus.

Another aspect that would have been helpful to me, the graduate students and the professor, would be having some sort of supervision or attendance in place. If I hadn’t taken initiatives and kept on asking the graduate students if they had needed any help, I could have done the bare minimum and that would not have been beneficial to me, the graduate students and the professor, as well. By constantly asking the graduate students if they need any help, I learned a lot and was able to work on projects that I wouldn’t have
The two sculptures have some similarities and differences. They are both sculptures of the same subjects in very similar poses. Riemenschneider carved his sculpture from wood, while Michelangelo carved his from marble. I find Riemenschneider’s sculpture to be more appealing because of all of its intricate wooden details.
Conclusion Ultimately I did a much better job of implementing course material into my approach to leading the project team. Though no formal leadership role was established, I ended up becoming the “point-man.” Instead of viewing this reality as a burden (as I have been) I should make the most of the opportunity to better myself and potentially others. Additionally, and perhaps most importantly, I need to make sure that I am meeting and exceeding the demands that the group places on itself and demonstrate that I am motivated.
When someone asks “do you mind if I offer you some feedback?”, you immediately think that you did something terribly wrong. You don’t know whether to feel proud or to feel ashamed, or even feel like you’ve been attacked and need to defend yourself as much as possible. Difficulty with accepting criticism is nothing new; in fact, it is more common than you think. We are often criticized after completing anything from simple tasks to the most complex projects we can accomplish. Common examples of what we are criticized for are: work ethic, creative works such as music, television, articles, etc., and for any mistake, small or large, we make during our day-to-day lives. Anybody can give constructive
Overall Reflections: What worked well? What aspects did you find challenging? Is there anything you would do differently in hindsight? Any other comments.
Today in America, personal ambition serves the common good. Motivates successful individuals drive social and economic progress and set strong examples for others. In order to help the common good, the common good must first help themselves. Instead of relying on others and the government for assistance, we should all reflect on ourselves and see what we can do for ourselves. If everyone helped themselves no one would need to be helped. Reliance on others is a huge problem with in our society, including a reliance on the government, other citizens and technology, and a reliance on others to help us achieve everyday activities. If we all tried self helping ourselves the world would be a much better place.
In this paper I will critically analyse the strength and weakness of using 'qualitative and quantitative' to a specific area of social work practice. The area of choice is children's services with focus on two research findings in the area of performance measurement within social work, with special emphasis on quality services and stability of placements for children looked after away from home.
Some of the planning that I did helped the students in other classes and even my own. During one part of the semester, we researched different ideas for the horticulture class students to implement in the schoolyard project that they were involved with. Others used my ideas and research in my class on their personal sustainability papers, university sustainability papers, and even their own personal goals to being sustainable.
Using saline to clean instruments, however, or excessive soaking of instruments in any fluid-(saline or water) will, over time, display as pitting on surgical instruments. Pitting can be seen as small pockets/divets on the instrument. Once an instrument shows signs of pitting, it “may” be buffed out, however, it is important to note that once pitting shows signs in the boxlocks, the teeth of forceps, or under the insulation in a laparoscopic instrument, due to their complex design, may prove difficult to remove and may even break down the instrument if not addressed in a timely manner.
By learning about many disorders in a controlled environment was very educational and beneficial to what I would like to do in my career. I am a very people-oriented person and like to spend my free time with friends and family. A very humbling thing to hear from friends is how much they trust me and how easily they can talk to me about their problems because I truly listen to them instead of waiting for my turn to talk. This is very comforting to hear as that is a very important trait to have as a
In conclusion, I think my practicum was a rich learning experience. I was exposed to various community organizations and I have the opportunity to interact and communicate with people with varying backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.
Wound care department, I learned more about various type of procedures for healing injuries, including the Hyperbaric chamber. ICU department, shadowing and assisting a nurse caring for patients in critical conditions and Radiology I saw thoracentesis procedure. Those experiences made me develop more as a future nurse and most importantly gave me more confidence while performing nursing
There was a new group of students, new rules, and a new atmosphere. I was also nervous because it was my first time observing a split grade. The grades I was observing was 3rd/4th. As time went on the nervousness left and I felt like I belonged in the classroom. The students were no longer scared of me and were willing to come to me for help.
...Some of the concepts we have had to learn include drawing the different elements in a bohr rutherford diagram, balancing chemical equations, types of chemical reactions, and the different types of acids and bases. Overall there were many other things in the unit that were very eye-opening as well, but these four definately helped me as a student have that ‘ah-ha’ moment, and they have definitely helped me learn about chemistry in a more in-depth way, appreciate chemistry and the science behind it a lot more, as well as teaching me something very new things such as how to neutralize Hydrochloric Acid inside of your stomach when it starts to pain. Learning these concepts in the classroom has really opened my eyes to the world in which we live in today, and now personally I will forever hold these memories and knowledge in my mind for when I really need it in my life.
Along with the training you get from being in the field you are also conditioned to do long ruck marches, and navigate through rough terrain in war zones. I was there to witness field training, watching it is one thing but actually practicing allows you to learn from more perspectives. When in a leadership position it tests your ability to react in certain situations and think in critical situations. Not participating as much in lab caused me to miss out on more opportunities to practice tactical exercises as well because I could not keep up
Feedback is a type of communication that we give or get. Sometimes, feedback is called "criticism," but this seriously limits its meaning.
