The media
The media can come in many forms. From social media, magazines to Television. Although there are fundamental differences the core purpose of all media is communication. Whether it be to inform, entertain or advertise.
Communication
Communication comes in many forms as well. For example: written or spoken communication. These all involve the the exchange of information through different medias. In order for communication to be carried our correctly, understanding must be accomplished which in turn effects your relationships.
Relationships
Relationships refer to interaction between yourself and other people. There are many types of relationships. For example: Casual, filial and romantic relationships.
The following illustrated essay will explain how the media affects ones beliefs and values towards relationships. It will explore the different media devices and how they individually affect on the perception of an individual.
Pertaining to Movies, as a from of media. It can be seen that movies express idealised forms of relationships. An appropriate example is romance. Soap operas and movies all provide the public with idealised concepts, such as “love at first sight”. Many people interpret this concept and think that love is an instant connection between people. In these films a couple is able to fall involve with in a matter of minutes, get married and live in “prosperity for all eternity”. Movies have also idealised appearance and personality. In conclusion, the media as a whole affects both positively and negatively of ones beliefs and values of different relationships. Depending on circumstance and personal factors the externes of the effect can range from moderate to unhealthy and detrimental to ones social life and inability to manage a relationship.

What does it mean to have a relationship? You could be together, pertaining to the select other who you entrust with all your emotions and your heart. You could be related, like a brother, sister, mother, daughter, etcetera; a relative. Heck, you could pertain this vast meaning of a relationship, with the ocean itself. As the ocean is large and it inumerous to fathom, so is the definition of relationship, which can be portrayed as various meanings.
What is the meaning of the word relationship? Relationship is simply defined as a bond or a connection people have between each other, whether it is emotional or professional. They come in many different forms such as teacher-student relationships, best friends, lovers, etc. Although, all relationships have not been accepted into society by everyone. There are certain relationships that are considered morally wrong by citizens and the government. For example, gay marriages and sexual relationships between an adult and a minor are forbidden by law in certain places. Statutory rape laws are discriminatory to boys and patronizing to girls because the men who violate these laws sometimes receive extreme or excessive punishments from the courts, are portrayed as predators of young women, and the girls are looked at as weak and incapable of consenting to sex.
A relationship is an emotional connection to someone involving an interaction between two or more people. There are many types of relationships, some functional and others far from being workable. I will demonstrate this through my texts of; Little Fugue, and Morning Song both poems written by Sylvia Plath; the movie, Love Actually; and the book, Trickster’s Choice by Tamora Pierce.
The media has several different aspects and tactics that impact gender roles. It has a way of impacting the emotions of men and women alike, as well as their view on their own gender and the roles they should carry out for the rest of their lives. Romance films were created as a fantasy for viewers to escape and experience a “happily ever after” (Romance films). The intended audience is generally women and teenager. This fantasy world that has been created had begun to create false expectation of what real love is. With the popularity of these films leads to the idea that, people’s perception of love is greatly influenced by films, and this leads to false expectations of how people perceive real relationships.
There are many different types of relationships. From your neighbor to your significant other, experiencing different relationships is a part of everyday life. Wether you posses good or bad communication skills will affect the interpersonal relationships within your life. The popular television series Modern Family is a good example of the different types of friendships, types of love, and relationship theories that encompass the everyday person.

They are a lot of different forms of media, for example, verbal or written media, visual media and aural media. This paper will look at how the effects of media are determined and explore the main affects on today’s society - violence, prejudice, and sexual behavior.
In the last 40 years, media influence has grown fast with the today`s advance technology. First there was a radio, then a newspapers, magazines, television and now there is a radical type of connection which has revolutionized the whole world that is the internet. Media is a way for the members of the society to keep themselves informed about what is happening and/or what will happen all around the world while they are staying at home, work or even on a vacation.
