Achieving success is a different process for everyone. Determining what success is, is based upon the goals of an individual. Each person views success and how to obtain it in a variety of ways. For me, the day I graduated from high school was the day that I experienced my greatest epiphany to date. It was the day that I realized what my path to success throughout the past four years had been. Success, on a personal level, had been obtained through facing adversity, practicing persistence, and expressing gratitude. I made highest honors, and I graduated with a GPA of 3.8. When I received my diploma I knew I had made it, I was successful. No, I did not have a net worth of a million dollars, and I was not going to Harvard in the fall, but I had accomplished what I had set out to do. I graduated on time, with my class, with a high GPA, and with a work ethic that I knew couldn’t possibly be beaten. I checked all of the boxes off my checklist. I had graduated; for some it may not sound like much, but I had overcome adversity, persisted through times of pure despair and pain, and I learned to express gratitude for even the worst of situations. I had grown as a person, learned so much about myself, and through all of it, I learned what it takes to become successful in anything and everything. That was two years ago, and my life has changed so much since then, but within the past two years, I have continued to be successful in all that I do, because I know how to be successful.
