Reflective Essay
When I first started Comp 1 my main goal for the class was to pass it and get the college credit. At first, the grade did not matter to me that much. Now that I am almost done with the class my goal has changed to passing Comp 1 with an A. I changed my goal because, I realized that I had grown as a writer to the point that I could do it. In this essay I will explain everything I learned and how I grew as a writer from essay to essay.
Our first essay we wrote was an Ad Analysis essay. It was a five paragraph essay about how effective an ad, of your choice, was. I chose a full page Snickers ad. Before we did the Ad Analysis essay I had only written two essays. So the whole idea of writing essays was completely new to me. At first, I was betting that I would not make any higher than a C on it. But, as I learned how to write it, I slowly started feeling better and better about it. I eventually made an 88 on the essay. From the essay I learned that I struggled significantly with transitions and commas. It helped me grow as a writer by teaching my how to writer by teaching my how to write an Ad Analysis correctly.

It was a three page essay arguing either for or against a topic of your choice. My essay was against standardized testing. I enjoyed writing this essay because, I believe that standardized tests hurts student education. For this reason I felt like I was going to make an A on this essay. So I was disappointed when I saw that I made only an 85 on it. My main problem in this essay was that I made to many carless mistakes on little stuff. From this essay I learned about the different ways standardized testing hurts student education.
