Composition Letter Grade Justification Metacognitive Essay/Composition
My goal as a writer is simple: write a paper that wants to be read. I know, every writer wants to be noticeable. They want fame, wealth and notoriety. But for me, I just want a paper that people would enjoy. As a writer I want to spark the passion of my reader, I want him/her to walk away and go “Wow I actually never thought of it like that”, or something like that. As I am right now, I am not at that level. I have not written a piece that I can truly be proud of, something that makes me feel that I, Adam, am a very good writer. But that is why I joined AP Lang and Comp: to help myself become a better writer. I feel that this class can help me in my journey to becoming a better writer. I first read the prompt and start to form an opinion or a certain belief towards the subject. Once I have this opinion, I use it to inspire me when I write an essay. It serves as my focal point and the backboard in which I can start, from there I can begin using examples in my life today that help support my belief. After I am done writing every detail that I have time for, I look through my essay and find where I made an obvious grammatical error, or somewhere in which I can improve upon my word choice. Now this is not the best way to write a paper, and I know that. But that is why I use other people’s opinion to help myself become a better writer. For example, in my EDM ( Ethical Decision Making ) essay, someone suggested that I should not start a sentence with the word “with”. When looking back through the essay, I realized that he/she was absolutely correct. So I went back and I fixed it. Now this is just one example, but it shows that I use other people’s opinion in order to help me become a better
