I grew up in a developing country where knowledge and culture about health and wellness is limited. The frequency of unhealthy lifestyles such as inactivity, poor nutrition, tobacco use and alcohol consumption are very high and are major contributors for poor physical and mental health, poor quality of life, and premature death. Ever since I was little, I had a keen interest in eating healthy and taking care of my physical health. I also enjoy supporting and guiding others to be their best self. Moving to U.S.A, gave me the opportunity to continue to live a healthy lifestyle, expand my knowledge and exposure to wellness and health. Since then, I’ve been so strongly attracted to studying about personal improvement and intellectual growth. I’ve read different books and listen to well recognized spiritual speakers. Years ago, I The loss devastated me greatly and it has been a very difficult time for me and my family. I didn’t understand why she has to die so young. She spends all her adult life helping people who are less fortunate and poor. During this difficult time my introduction and knowledge about mind, body and spirit helped me to cope with my loss and get through the grieving process. My spiritual growth allowed me to guide my family to cope with their grief, change my outlook about life, allow me to embrace life for what it is and be grateful. After much reflection on life and my long desire for healthy living, I decided to find a new purpose in life. Getting a formal education in health and wellness coupled with my own personal interest will equip me with the tools I need to help myself and others. It will also help me to bring positive behavioral change to improve the life of the community at large. In conclusion I believe that Maryland University Integral Health has the appropriate program and educational structure I am looking for and the partnership will allow me get to advance my
