During the semester I have spent in Business 105, I have not only learned more about my major which is International Business, but I have also, learned about the inner workings of the Bryan School of Business as a whole. Additionally, I have been educated on the different accomplishments and resume builders, which will catapult me ahead in the workforce, making me a unique candidate among my peers. Finally by using the resources provided to me by the University of North Carolina at Greensboro I will gain the knowledge of not only how to become a better student but, one day an employee.
Within the class of Business 105 we had several of the Bryan School of Business’ department heads come to and talk to our class about the different courses,
For example in the ‘Double Resume” assignment I was able to compare and contrast my current resume to the one that I desire to have in the year 2020. As I looked over both resumes I found that I could use some of my past achievements like doing a charity water drive for Flint, Michigan and obtaining a silver in Workkeys Certification, which is an career readiness exam for those going into or who are already apart of the work force. However, even though I have preexisting work qualities I learned that I do want to get more certificates like having being Microsoft word, excel, and powerPoint certificatied, and joining programs like Camp kesem a counseling program for children whose parents have cancer and lastly attaining a minor in spanish. Also, as a result of me wanting to own my own restaurant one day the “Hierarchy” I was able to look up different loans, grants and programs for small business owners and minorities . Essentially, by completing these assignments, assignments I have become steps closer to achieving a positive
I found this case study particularly interesting; in retrospect this class would have been extremely helpful prior to starting my husband’s business. I now see the importance of having a clear financial plan and projection, along with a strong command of your market share. My husband and I have been able to muddle through the areas were did not know or understand in running a business, but prior knowledge would have been a valuable
While other children watched their favorite cartoon or played their favorite video game, reading business articles and watching the fluctuations seen in the stock market enthralled me. Renowned leaders in the business world have always been of interest to me, specifically Warren Buffet. My favorite quote by Buffet is “It’s better to hang out with people better than you. Pick out associates whose behavior is better than you and you’ll drift in that direction.” By attending CMU, I would personify this quote. Growing up, my parents have instilled into me, many essential values, such as working hard and “being the best me I could be.” I have always expected a lot from myself, but high expectations from my parents and close friends, have increased my work ethic and lifted my goals and aspirations even higher. For that reason, I hope to challenge myself through the prestigious Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Science’s economics curriculum. The undergraduate economics program would prepare me for a vast array of careers. Jobs in policy, law, and business are all possible, or if one desires to go to some sort of post graduate school, that is also possible. By having such a top-notch education, I would surely be closer to achieving my goal of receiving my MBA from Tepper. In making all this possible, a wide range of classes must be made available. Classes that are available in just about any economics curriculum, like Intermediate Economics, are also available here, but classes like Behavioral Economics and Global Electronic Markets are what makes CMU unique. Another attractive aspect of CMU is the jointly administered economics degree by Dietrich and Tepper. I feel this will make for a solid foundation in the field of econo...
Therefore, I hope that I can achieve many new valuable experiences as well as friendships through this class. As a student, I believe I have the responsibilities to pay attention in class, and contribute to the class as much as I can. Besides, I need to ensure that I finish homework before coming to class and seek for help when needed. My goal is to become a successful business woman, who has the opportunities to work with different countries and cultures around the world. I am confident that this class will help improving my analytical and organizing skills, which are helpful and beneficial for my career in the
I am not going to lie this class was my hardest it felt like I didn’t know what was going on at all time. It not like I wasn’t learning anything in there is just that I didn’t really get the class at all. Every time went on Capsim to do work I never get anything do because I didn’t know what I was doing. Is not like I didn’t like the class the class I just us doing the Capsim online was hard for some people because they didn’t know what to do. Next semester I think the class should be thought like microeconomic because more people we will it better. Another idea I was thinking was we could do a field trip to some business meetings even though I know students in college don’t do feel trip. The feel trip will give us an ideal of what a real
I want to be a better person, and it is because of this class that I was finally able to figure out how to go about doing just that. I know how to learn. I know that if I am going to learn in an effective manner I have to do things hands on. I have learned that my way isn’t always the best way. When it comes to solving a problem, I have to be open and willing to actually hearing the other side of the situation instead of plotting my defense in my head. I have learned that thinking critically isn’t something that is learned and mastered overnight. To apply critical thinking effectively I have to be able to be aware and practice the steps every single time. After I graduate and walk away with my Bachelor’s Degree, I want my success to continue. I want to be able to take what I have learned and apply it to my Project Manager career. For me, Academic Success will not end when that diploma is in my hand. As long as I have goals and strive to reach and set new goals, academic success will forever be in my
I am ready to begin an educational experience at Olin Business School that will provide me with the business knowledge I lack at this point in my career in order to shape my future business career and succeed in the financial field. I am confident that my professional experiences reinforced by the personal dedication, hard work and business ethics I have built in the last five years have refined me to seek a superior education from Olin. I am very excited to be able to challenge myself by setting my professional goals very high knowing that an MBA from Olin will undoubtedly help me to reach my short-term and long-term goals and support me to prolong my passion throughout my career.
In recent decades, the process of globalization has accelerated and the world economy has become increasingly interdependent. The rise in the number of businesses that extensively operate in more than one foreign country, which is known as multinational corporations, plays an important role in the ongoing procedure of globalization. The United Nations has reported that multinational corporations hold one-third of world’s productive assets and control 70 percent of world trade (Schermerhorn et al., 2014). Globalization encourages worldwide business. ...unication is most interesting and motivating course I have taken this semester.. I found that contacting professor for help in difficulties you face would really be beneficial the way you look things. I learnt to effectively communicate with professors and team members in a more professional member After 4 months through organized coursework, assignments, projects and teamwork I have a clearer vision of how business communication strategies work and really applied few of them in situations of my student life. However, the Business Communication text book was useless as I have never used it. I would like to say a big word of thank you to Diana, and all the fellow classmates of Business Communications X204

In the college success strategies (COLL 101) class, we had explored various areas of future possibility. Throughout the quarter, We sketched out the big pictures of the future. We identified potential destination and explored the path to get there. In this reflection essay, I would like to talk about and reflect on personal development throughout the quarter.
I found this topic so interesting and motivating and I believe that I got some new knowledge and skills after attended this assignment topic. My experience has been successfully expanded as a result of attending classes, to include global approach to the international business. I found out that practice for international business has become little bit complicated due to influence of globalization.
As all the countries are on the way to globalize with each other, business is not the exception. Globalization in business definitely brings a lot of great opportunities for many countries. However, in order to make the best of the globalization in business, management is the golden key to that success.
The course was useful in understanding of the interconnected nature of business organisations and the importance of decision making in increasingly competitive and globalized markets.
Globalization has changed the world economy. Most of the small companies cannot ignore any events that occur outside their borders this is because of what happened in one country an impact on the rest of the world has. Individuals who work for small companies that believe they can act independently is not a realistic people, but they are myopic and have narrow minded. Actually, the study of international business is relevant to all people who are in the business world does not matter whether the organization is a large or small organization. The first reason is that so many things are imported from other countries. In the example, closing a deal in China will be a very different process than would be in U.S than it is in India. Customs of other countries need to be followed if a businessperson is to be successful worldwide.
