Red Kayak feels like it’s based on a true story because of how many realistic events that could have happened in real life. There were many major events that happened throughout the story. The major event is when Brady found out that his friends had something to do with Ben’s death because of the three holes in the kayak and how Brady eventually told the truth after how hard it was to realize that he, along with his friends, might get into a huge deal of trouble.
