A car is an object. It functions because of a motor, wheels, and fuel. The motor is like the heart of the car. The wheels are like the legs of the car. The fuel is like the blood in the car. Without the motor, everything will not function. Without the wheels, the car will not go into motion. Without the fuel, the car will not go anywhere. Cars are mainly made of metal, a lightweight metal. If the metal is heavy, the car will burn more fuel because it has to carry the weight of the metal and still go at a reasonable speed. The wheels of the car have to be circular because it will make the ride smoother. Imagine having triangle wheels. It would be a long, jerky ride. Cars roll, they do not fly. do not really do much together. Every now and then we go to dinner, but only on special occasions. My household generally goes their own way. My mom goes to her room, I go to my room, and my grandmother goes to her room. We suck at having conversations. My childhood was okay, it was not best, but it was not the worst. I do not think mine is happier than others. Some kids have a happier childhood because their was little to no negative energy in their household. They receive love all the time. Then there is kids that have bad childhoods because there could be a lot of negative energy and they could be in poverty. It affects a lot of kids minds when they see their parents or parent struggling to make sure they are happy. It was not too much negative energy in my household growing up, but the negative energy that did happen, still affected me. I saw the look on her face and knew right then that I wanted to be hers. As we lay together, I look into her eyes and I see the stars. I got up and asked her to marry me. She said yes. I was so glad that she was not mad at the fact that I proposed to her in a dumpster in a random alley. Day Six If I could have something that would make me happy, I would want a billion dollars. A billion dollars would make my life way better because I can get what I want, when I want it. When I turn 18, I can get out of my house as soon as possible because I will have the money to rent an apartment. I can buy a nice car, preferably an F-150. They are big and I am small, but I still want it. I could take a trip to wherever I want. I want to go to Egypt, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, California, South Africa, and Paris. I would be able to do the activities that I want to do, like martial arts, tennis, basketball, and softball. If I passed away and returned as a ghost, I would scare my friends and family.
I would test out the things that ghost do in movies to see if it is actually real. First, I would go to my best friends houses. I will see if I can go through a wall, if I can that would be great. I hope I can float because that is cooler than walking. I would float to her room and make noises until she wakes up. Then I would throw things around, bang on the walls, and tap her shoulders. When she freaks out, I will reveal that it was me the whole time. Hopefully she would not freak out. I am assuming that she already knows that I am dead, so I believe she will be fine if she sees her best friend as a ghost. Once I am done with my best friends, I will go to my family. I want to do the same thing I did with my friends, but I do not want them to go into cardiac arrest. I simply tap their shoulders and make a few noises. I think my grandmother would freak out because she believes in supernatural beings. My mom would not freak out visibly, but on the inside she would probably …show more content…
tremble. Day Seven After high school, I plan on going into the military, specifically the Marines.
I have to wait until I turn 18, that way I will not need my parents permission. In the Marines, I want to be an anesthesiologist or a psychologist. If I do not go into the Marines, then I am going to Schoolcraft Community College for two years. After I complete the two years at Schoolcraft College, I will attend a university. I hope I can get into Grand Valley State University. If I do not get into Grand Valley State University, then I will go to Wayne State University. Kids bringing guns to school causes school violence. All schools need to have metal detectors like many predominantly Black schools. Black school shootings are unheard of, so obviously metal detectors work. Politicians also cause school shootings because they choose to ignore it, they are mainly pro guns. If America treats all schools like they treat predominantly Black schools, it would be less school shootings. Arming teachers will just make things worst because there will be loaded guns on campus, a teacher can easily get knocked out and then a student will have a
gun. My worst nightmare was about a person I liked. We were in Detroit and it was a zombie apocalypse. The person I liked could not fight for themselves because they were scared of blood. I had to protect the person. We try to find food, shelter, and a medical kit in an abandoned supermarket. I told the person to stay close to me. I had a baseball bat and a pistol. As I am looking through some bags, I hear a low growl. I look around and I see a tank. A tank is a very large mutated human with a oversized arm and small head. The tank spots the person I like first. I try to avoid using my gun because a herd of zombies will come. The person I like makes a mistake and tries to run, which only triggered the tank to chase her. I had no choice but to shoot now, so I did. The tank did not flinch at all. At this point, I knew we were doomed. The person ran out of places to run, so the tank picked them up and squeezed them to death in front of my eyes. Organs and blood went everywhere. Their head rolled on the floor and the eyes looked directly at me as if they were saying goodbye. Then their eyes closed. That is when I woke up because it freaked me out. Day Eight If I were to survive a zombie apocalypse world with zombies, I would want my friends Myah, Angela, Angel, and Mya to be a part of my crew. Myah and Angel can fit in small places because they are very tiny. Angela and Mya are tall and fearless, so they can reach anything that is too high for me to get. They can gather food and weapons. I can shoot really good, so I can lead the crew. Also, I am a martial artist, which means I am very good at using melee weapons and my bare hands. I really do not like the president that we have right now because of his political views and his actions. He disrespects women and does not believe women should have the right to abort their baby. His views caused Republicans to be reactionary. Hate crimes has increased, police brutality has increased, especially towards Black people. The justice system is unfair. A seventeen year Black boy will face the death penalty for committing two murders and an aggravated robbery, meanwhile a White guy who took ten lives from a school with an assault weapon will not face the death penalty. A new Jim Crow is going to happen because of this president. After I get out of school, which includes college, I plan on getting the career I want and hopefully be married a few years later. I want eight kids, preferably four boys and four girls. I want to move to California because Michigan is too cold. I will try to move there before I have kids, that way they will be born and raised in California.
Michael Eisinger an eighth grade science teacher says, "If a gunman is going to cause violence in a school, they are going to have the element of surprise," "My guess is that they would still be able to shoot teachers, students or whoever else they wanted before some sort of coherent response materialized. (Huffington Post) Arming teachers isn’t going to solve the problem. We still will end up with deaths in schools. The gunman may decide to take the professors gun as well, which will result in the enemy having another harmful weapon.
One of the biggest debates in education is how to respond to gun violence in schools. According to BBC, “There were 64 school shootings in 2015” (BBC). One response to the rise in gun violence in schools is to arm teachers. Even our President has mentioned “giving a bonus” (Davis 2) to teachers that The fact that the idea of arming teachers is even being discussed is disappointing. Bringing more guns into a school is not the answer to gun violence. Most people that defend the idea that guns will “help” keep schools safe have basically three points: (1) teachers will be trained in gun safety, (2) it helps deter potential school shooters, and (3) it will make the students feel more safe. Even though there is some truth to those points, I think that the cons of arming teachers vastly outweigh the pros of arming teachers.
I will do college when I have at least put 2-3 years into the Infantry. Then I will also change my MOS to learn some Technical Skills, repairing vehicles, stuff like that, for a just in case scenario. Something I can fall back on in case my plans after The Marines doesn't fall through. I plan on joining the CIA or FBI.(if CIA doesn't fall through) Definatly Counter-Terrorist stuff.
One reason teachers should not be able to carry guns because guns are currently illegal in schools; Guns are illegal because they are dangerous. The Gun Free School Zone Act (GFSZA) is a federal law that was accepted in the United States in 1990. According to the GFSZA, “It shall be unlawful for any individual knowingly to possess a firearm at a place that the individual knows, or has reasonable cause to believe, is a school zone.” In order for teachers to carry guns, we would have to discard this law. Also, the school board would have to create a new policy, allowing teachers to carry guns. Adjusting the rules would be time consuming and confusing. Changing the GFSZA would make students tense and distract children from learning. Citizens from CNN Politics say, “72.4% of educators said they would be unlikely to bring a firearm to school if allowed to do so.” This data shows that the majority of teachers do not even want possession of a gun in the classroom. School officers have the right to carry guns, teachers should just focus on education. Not only does it create a huge responsibility, there would also need to be a large financial investment to supply guns for every school. This money would be hard to come up with, and not everyone is in favor of sacrificing money for firearms.
... a high school student, I don’t take much stock in the safety codes and drills in place to keep students safe in the event of a shooting. I would feel much safer knowing my teacher has the ability to protect the class, rather than hide and lock the door. An educator is responsible for the students in their class. They are responsible for their education and their safety while the children are in their classroom. The safety of fifteen or more students would be much more easily secured by one person if that person was armed. Promoting teachers to arm themselves also prevents school shootings; criminals don’t attack a victim that can fight back. At least 60% of school attacks would be prevented with an armed faculty warning sign. School faculty members should be armed to secure the safety of the countries students, and in hand prevent the majority of potential shootings.
Throughout the years of education, kids go to school to get an education, to hang with friends, to get excise, and many other things. America should have armed officers in in public schools. Since kids are spending a majority of their time throughout the day and year at school, they should feel safe in that environment. That can soon change with school security falling behind with this current growth of school shooting. Schools shootings have begun occurring more often in the United States from elementary schools all the way up to colleges. How should school systems fix this problem? One solution that could be the most effective is having multiple armed officers in schools. Let’s begin with some major school shootings that were lacking armed officers, when the resource officer successfully stopped a potential shooting, and reasons why we should have an armed officer.
School shootings have occurred countless amount of time in the 21st century and will continue to occur. This is a crime that has been taken lightly for so many years and just now has been taken seriously. At first they were on awareness but not taken as serious as they are now. Yes they would try to be prevented but now almost every school in America is trying everything to not let one happen in their school. The drastic measures that schools have gone through has changed the way kids go to school and how teachers do their jobs. Schools have changed rules and regulations just so that the children will be safe and it still does not assure their safety but the laws passed and things done have prevented and helped.
Allowing teachers to carry guns could help lower school shootings. “While some believe tighter gun controls are the answer, others believe the best solution comes in giving more people — like teachers and administrators — more training and more access to firearms that can save lives as well as take them away” (Evensen guns and teachers). “Our organization
There have been 175 school shootings in the United States since 2013 (175 School Shootings). Mass school shootings have become an immense problem in America in the past few decades. Unfortunately, there are hundreds of cases of school shootings and this is becoming a problem in society and a problem for school children and staff. There are too many people who are able to map out a plan and shoot innocent school children. Too many lives are being taken due to school shooters and America as a whole needs to come up with a plan to stop such crimes. The problem with school shootings will never be fully eradicated, however, there are measures we can take to prevent these actions by creating stricter gun laws, becoming more aware of unusual behavior, and providing better security in schools.
What is something you feel so passionate about that you want to dream about doing it one day? One thing that I hope to do in the future that I dream about is to make wreckless cars! You might be wondering what I mean by “wreckless cars” well you are just about to find out.
Arming teachers is believed to make schools safer. Each year 142 school shootings take place, but only in the U.S.. On 5/3/17, 45 school shootings took place in the U.S. in the year 2017. That’s about one third, only in four months, which gives more time for shootings to happen. In these shootings, many people die, and many others wish they were stopped.
April 20, 1999, 18-year old Eric Harris and 17-year-old Dylan Klebold walked into Columbine high school they Killed 12 students and one teacher. The teacher did not have a gun, Nor did anyone else The teacher could have saved lives, but He wasn't allowed to bring a gun The two teens arrived at the school at 11:23 am the Swat team came in at 1:10 PM. That is About 2 hours until the students were Safe if there was a teacher with a gun he could have made that 13 deaths way lower This is why the Teachers need guns !!! Teachers should be able to carry guns because it will make students feel safer and will deter shooters. Although, one could argue carrying guns could put the school more at risk of an accidental shooting
Over in the United States of America, with in the first 23 weeks, there was 24 school shootings. That averages 1 attack per week where students lose their life. While in Australia, there has not been a mass shooting or school attack since 1996. That’s over two decades where schools have been safe because of Australia safe gun laws. So there is absolutely no need for teachers to have a firearm in class to “protect” the students.
The President, law-makers and Americans are pushing for teachers to carry guns, which would bring additional risks, promote gun violence, would be costly, and require regulations, when there are alternatives to fight the gun violence in America’s schools.
Many teachers very well might not want the responsibility of a gun. Swofford is an example of a professor that has a background in using guns yet he still refuses to work at a place where weapons are allowed. I feel this will become the case with many teachers and professors, whether they have a gun background or not. By arming people who are not prepared or experienced is putting violence as a necessity, when really it’s just an unnecessary scare tactic. The teachers in Florida risked and sacrificed their lives for their students, without guns, while the armed security officer admittedly did nothing to stop the situation.
