Kindness Always
Lucius Annaeus Seneca once stated, “Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for kindness.” These words once spoken are so true and prove to be to this day. Every day in human life there are unfortunate events that happen and maybe some days when nothing seems to go right, it is then when the kindness of humans can not be ignored. Random acts of kindness are part of humans everyday life, ranging from big to little. Time and time again people make mistakes, but that is just human nature. It can not take away from the fact that humans are not what some think. The human species is known to some as cruel, but when you really look into things humans are just the opposite; they are kind.
There is a foundation called the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation. This foundation is purely based on being kind to others and promoting more kindness. As the RAK likes to describe themselves, “We’re a small, but mighty team making huge strides towards building a kinder world” (Random Acts of Kindness, RAK). The foundation was founded by Gary Dixon and the members of the RAK foundation call themselves RAKtivist’s. They originally just celebrated Random Acts of Kindness Day, on February 17th, along with National Kindness Day, which takes place on November 13th. They decided that since those days were so big they might as well make it a whole week to celebrate, and there are people from all over that celebrate with them. As the RAK foundation says, “If the world can commit one ordinary day to kindness, why not extend that commitment by 6 more?” It is truly inspiring to see how much kindness is alive and it especially shows in times like that week and those two
